power adapter thingie

so I got a new dolce heated doggie bed for Bella but it only came with an adapter to plug it in to a car lighter

think I could just go out and buy another cable that plugs in to a wall or is there an adapter that changes it from the cigarette ligter plug to a regular wall outlet plug???

Take the car one to Radio Shack... They should have something there to help. If they don't have a 12v wall adapter they should have a 120v supply that will step down to what you need.

Why would they only give you a car power supply? Who needs a heated pet bowl in their car? LOL

Namaste

See what the output rating on the adapter you got is. I might have a spare if it's something like 12V.

I'm calling the company now for the stats on the adapter. I'd rather just buy a new cable so I have one in my car ... alright it's just a regular 12 v dc adapter that plugs into the bed. He said I sould be able to get the adapter at PetCo (since they sell te bed) or at Radio Shack, etc

Oh and it was the traveler bed. I didn't like the regular ones

just get a battery tender and wire it to that. you may have to go through a power commander though. slide fork tubes to compensate if necessary.

see i cant say i didnt learn anything from clsb

The dog heater thing must run off 12 volts DC. That's what your car lighter plug puts out. Well, 13.5 to 14 volts DC if you want to get technical.

You need some kind of DC to AC inverter/adaptor.

What the fuck? Your dog does not need that bullshit. LOL!!!

Its not enough that he has to sit directly infront of the space heater on full blast.

She probably does. My mattress sags like crazy and causes pressure points. In fact, I'm probably going to try and get a new one this weekend.

Double check your polarity and amp draw. Last thing you need is to set your dog or house on fire.

Polarity should be standard with center as positive, and I asked her to check the current draw already. This is only a 1Amp supply, not sure how much the bed draws.

Their web site is being coy about the tech specs on the thing. For comparison, I've got a heating pad here that takes 53 watts and probably runs much hotter than the bed.

yeah I called the company and he looked it up and said all that was there as far as specs go was 12 v dc lol

but the bed is supposed to not get really hot, they say you may not even feel the heat but your dog will
