Spoiler: No Country For Old Men

I thought this was one of the better films I've seen in a while. I still have mixed feelings about the ending? Any opinions? Do you think he killed the wife or let her go?

Antoine Chigurgh has to go down in history as one of the most unforgettable and coldest bad guys in movie history IMO

I thought it was overall a great flick and maybe I missed the ending totally. The bootleg I have just sort of cut off after Chigurgh got in the car accident. Was that the actual ending of the film or did I miss more?

The concept of the coin toss was that you make your own choices of what you do, but if you don't make a choice then someone else will make that choice for you. Hence, she didn't make a choice so he killed her. Her 50/50 chance of surviving went down the drain.

I liked it Maynard like you. That dude was freakishly evil, absolutely no conscious. I am sure he killed Luellen's wife, as he is a stickler for following his rules. Just like when he flipped his coins, everyone's life is decided by that coin flip. Some of my favorite quotes "You don't have to do this" "Why does everyone say that?"

"I knew when you walked in that door you were crazy"

Yeah, he was one evil, no-feeling motherfucker.

The characters were all interesting and beleivable. And I really liked how it built up tension and feeling of being hunted. Even when the pit-bull was swimming after him in the river was super intense.

I liked it. Worth seeing IMO

Agreed, it was one of the better movies to me this year; and to think, all could have been avoided if he didn't bring that guy water later on .

No shit!

I liked the scene where Llewelyn is sitting and waiting in the hotel room with the shotgun, just staring at the door. And then the door knob just pops out across the room....and you know who's on the other side.

Yes, it was written well. It also illustrated how tough it would be to get away with money like that if some really nasty dudes wanted it. Antoine used every angle possible to get that money back. A tracker on the money. Even if you avoided the tracker and took off, they would go after your family. It just never ends, better to stay away from that stuff in the first place. Although, I would have grabbed some of those guns like he did . They would have only recovered 1.5 million .

Sorry for bringing this back but I just saw this movie. And yes he did kill her. I just didn't understand the ending either. I have searched all over and I think I just missed the meaning or it's original intent.

My take was that Tommy Lee Jones and Chigurgh were the same person

rented and returned it already. I can't see how that makes any sense though. Maybe I missed something.

Maybe just me trying to make sense of it. Instead of being utterly disappointed in the ending.

the ending was kinda odd. I'd like to read the book, maybe it makes more sense.

Cormac McCarthy is a good writer and I know there is much more about the TLJ character in the book and what he did during the war.

was great movie, up to the end. seems like they ran out of time towards. they should of just cut it and posted "the end". that would of been better then the real ending.

The title doesn't do anything for the movie. I recently saw the preview on comcast on demand, rolled the dice, and watched the movie. That guy was truly evil, he was great! After a few minutes of watching, you'll stay to watch the end (although it left me wondering too).

I liked it. I think he killed her b/c he was cleaning his shoes.

Good movie though, the ending screwed with me and I had to watch it about 7 times.

I loved the movie and also believe he killed the wife at the end.

Nothing terribly interesting in the blu-ray extras, although the wife is a British actress, she really pulls off the Texas accent in the movie.

Javier B. is spanish. A co-worker of mine gave me some of his other movies and he is a GREAT actor. (Javier is Antwan Sughar or however it's spelled). I told my co-worker that he was a total psycho in this movie (this was the first role I've seen him playing). Yes it's amazing how they can hide their accents.

I thought it was an awesome movie; very well done.

Like the rest of you I thought the ending was weird. It's not that I don't like the ending... it is just odd.

TLJ and the killer are not the same person. lol
