This is cool but creepy

And I can't figure out whether to make a bad RealDoll joke, make a Kim Cattrall joke, be creeped out of existence, or to be amazed at the ingenuity involved.

Dr. Steve Dawson and a team of researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology recently unveiled the Combat Medic Training System, Comets, to train combat medics. The dummy's ailments and injuries are realistic with blood spewing from torn arteries, displays of shock symptoms, and screams from the dummy itself. Synthetic veins pump through imitation blood, and the dummy's detachable limbs make it easier to train medics on one particular wound at a time. The skin of the dummy feels realistic, particularly when medics tap veins with IV needles and other intravenous devices. The main function of the dummy is to train combat medics about how to apply tourniquets, apply pressure, recognize failing pulses, and identify mortal wounds more quickly. . . .

When I went through Medlab we had to keep a goat alive for 20 minutes that had a sucking chest wound. Better than killing a goat everytime.
