Cloverfield

Just saw the movie and it rawked hard. The chick Beth in the movie was wicked hot. She sorta looked like Jessica Alba.

It's actually a good movie to watch in the theater. Try and find one with a big screen and great surround sound. Well worth the price of admission. OKAY, time to get drunk... good night!

Yeah the concept for the movie was great. Camera motion was way way...way way.......way way over the top. I felt like I just got done with a 12 hour FPS game marathon.

This movie sucks. This is 'the blair witch project' but with a monster that you don't see and even shittier camera work. Unbelievably stupid. Don't waster your time. Trust me. People were yelling in the movie an hour through saying 'this sux' & 'stop moving the camera - i got a headache'. I can not be more sincere when I say 'stay home'.

i like the monster, the action, the characters (especially hud)

its just that the handheld camera is over the top and never stops moving, i got motion sick halfway through from my eyes constantly darting back and forth. unique movie though, i still say its worth seeing, just be ready to feel carsick almost.

oh come on man, hud was ok (kinda funny) but that is it. the monster is cool for the 6 seconds you see it for the entire movie,,,,no back story, no plot, no depth, & the camera we agree on.....

I haven't seen it, but I don't think I could take this kind of movie. I got dizzy and pissed at the Bourne series fighting sceens for that quick action, flashing camera/stunt double sequences; there is no way I could handle an hour and a half of this fucking with my head in that manner

it was a monster destroying new york action flick. what kind of story/plot did you want man? another pathetic excuse for a godzilla flick where they describe a half ass unbelievable theory that creates the monster like radiation or teenage mutant ninja turtles secret of the ooze shit? If they even tried to explain where the creature came from, it would just take away from the movie more. and that totally misses the point of the film. which was to show the events happening from a real world perspective behind the camera lens of the person experiencing it hence the shitty camera work (yet believable) and the audience knowing about as much as the monster as the characters. thats it. i think people that disliked the film went in with an overhyped expectation of what they were going to see.

You guys are crazy. Simple as that. If you thought this was a good movie then I don't even know I can argue this further. I understand the premise but they could have used the news cast on the tv to give some data or they could have given some data at the beginning when they say they found the camera. Fact is I go to a moster movie to see a moster & destruction. I mean you don't even see that. I go to a comedy to laugh and to a hororr to see blood. This is supposed to be a monster movie & ends up being some little asshole trying to get to his bitch. It just was not a good sell. And talk about overhyped. They hyped this movie as the next big thing. I have never seen so many people walking out of a theater bitching about what they just endured. But if you like it fine. Everyone has their own taste but for me this movie is a huge bust.

saw the movie last night. i wasn't impressed or displeased with it. a friend dragged me to it so i really didn't know what to expect. i get the idea behind the home movie filming but it just felt like they took it too far. it jumped way too much in some seens. so much so that i had to close my eyes. in the end it was ok. nothing great. i would wait to rent it if you have a good sound system otherwise i wouldn't bother. did anyone happen to stay till the end of the credits? my friend made me stick around to see if there was anything at the end. turns out, there was. no spoilers here.

Shit man, you missed out. Robert Downer JR is playing Tony Stark. Insane trailer. synopsis: RD jr is some hot shot bobm maker. Terrorists abduct him, make him build a rocket, he makes a suit, busts out, makes a better suit. At the end you just seem him flying, being followed by jets. Can't wait.

Home Movies

I'm going to see it. I loved Blair Witch Project and I since I have a good imagination I don't need to be spoon fed every detail of a movie (i.e. must SEE a monster).

The motion of the camera doesn't effect me since I've been gaming for years so I won't trip on people that feel "sick". It's been like that since the original Doom game. There were warnings to look away for some moments. But you eventually do get used to it.

Some can hate that style of filming but it's still a realistic point of view like it or not.

werd, the camera still got to me and im an avid gamer. but i still got sick about an hour into it. i looked away for like 15 minutes lifting my head up every 30 seconds or so and that got me fine enough to finish up the last 20 minutes.
