Favorite Performer(Band) on Stage

Mine is Queen Eventhough i havent seen him perform on stage just watching him previous concert (DVD) is awesome. When he sing its so clear and he can entertain the audience.I wish i was born early and seen them perform live. Aside from Queen I love Metallica and GNR.

Never saw Queen (only because I was too young, Queen rocks!), really wish I had.

The best show I've ever seen by far and away was U2 on the Elevation tour at the United Center, the acoustics sucked ass, but I was about 15 feet away from Bono for 90% of the show, just amazing.

As far as pure "show", Kiss still reigns supreme...don't knock it until you experience it.
Best overall concert for me was Scorpions/Iron Maiden at Alpine Valley.

I can see Kiss putting on a great show.

My favorite/ best show was Rage Against the Machine at the Aragon just after Evil Empire came out. I pushed my way up to the front and probably lost 10 lbs jumping around like an idiot all night!

Second best is a split between Marc Anthony back in the mid 90's at Pan American Fest (I'm probably the only one on here that has seen him live) and Kanye West at the HOB before his first album hit.

edwin mccain of course :P

another great concert was 30 Seconds to Mars at the Congress Theatre downtown but the acoustics were fuckin terrible could barely hear jared leto

the light/effects, and whole backdrop to the stage, just an awesome show and great performers the way they entered the stage with this march of flags and masks and shit. i dunno, was just a great show despite the sucky sound

My favorite show would be the same exact one. The place was absolutly on fire that night. I have never seen so much energy pumped out of a crowd. No concert has ever come close in terms of audience involvement.

There are so many bands I have seen that are awesome live.

In no particular type of order:

311
Queensryche
Iron Madien
Living Color
Megadeath
White Snake - with Steve Vai
Metallica - old days before black album
Rolling Stones
Lenny kravitz
Joe Satriani
Yngwie Malmsteen
Seven Dust
Nonpoint
Van Halen
Paul Gilbert
Slayer
John Petrucci
Steve Vai
Jason Bonham
Anthrax
Motley Crue
Nine inch Nails

Shit man there are tons!! I'm sure I'm leaving out many. All of the bands or solo artist above kicked some serious ass live.

Where you there the first night or the second? I was there on the first. To top off the great concert afterward we were standing out side all sweety waiting for the rest of the people I went with, my buddy was handed a joint by a limo that drove by.

I got to sing Sussudio with Phil Collins, so I will have to rank him as #1.

And I could watch Radney Foster play any day of the week. It's like storytime

I totally agree. I went to both shows and they were fricking NUTS. Tool is a close second.

Do not do many concerts because I got a thing with crowds. But that being said.

The Ramones at the Brawlroom was a experience of a lifetime in the late 80s.

I also go see the Pogues When Shane is with them this is a show where the audience gets it and is part of the show picking up lyrics that Shane forgets and plus you never know Shane could drop dead right on stage. The way he would want it.

U2 was great early on I saw them on the tour for War which became Under a Blood Red Sky album.

REM used to kick ass live do not know about now.

Local bands? Waco Brothers are super entertaining. Funny and talented as hell.
Andrew Bird is just unbelievable in terms of original music.
Local H is pure power and wild abandon, you just never know what Scott Lucas is gonna do on the stage and Brian St. Clair is the personification of Animal, from the Muppets. All hair and arms, but wow, does he kill the drums!
Favorite music fest is the Hideout Block Party, every year its something new and always entertaining.

My favorite Non-local bands would have to be:
U2, Peter Gabriel and Guided by Voices for favorite performers.

Lots of musicians put out killer albums but ain't very good live, so its funny how the 'best live performers' aren't always in the Top 40! (LOL)

And Yes, Kiss used to rock the shizzle, but now, not so much.

I don't remember if I was at the first or second, but more than likely it was the first one.

Negativland - True/False Tour at House of Blues - they did fucked up puppet shows - best A/V show ever.

The Frames - First time they played at Schubas - Glen Hansard was totally charming and the crowd was electric.

Touch and Go's 25th Anniversary Festival - What I got to see of it was mindblowing. Got the chance to see bands I missed out on like Big Black and Scratch Acid. Mercifully, David Yow kept his pants on. Cool to see Man or Astroman's 6' tall tesla coil in person though. Of course never tire of seeing Arcwelder, which has been a favorite band since high school

Yup. I'm a nerd.

I've seen Kiss play. I was bored. Sorry. Hate stadium shows, mostly because I hate people/crowds.

Almost forgot, Bob Mould at First Ave. in Minneapolis - Solo show, just him with a guitar. He lad laryngitis, couldn't sing, and offered everyone their money back if they wanted to leave. Then invited people up on stage to sing with him. Nobody left.
