Dog owners HELP!

Any tips on how to keep your dog from smelling like ass?

I have an english bulldog, and she is an inside dog, but no matter how much I wipe her when she comes in from doing her business, there are just times that she smells like ass.

I give her a bath about twice a week. Normally once, but sometimes it just too much.

... also, anyone else have a problem with Meaty-bone treats giving their dog gas?

take her to the groomer. she needs to have her anal gland expressed..... Dont ask you dont want to know.... just take her and tell them that.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

No, and she has gone to the groomers, but about a month ago....

.... yuk...

Calling now to see if they can get her in.... since I'm not home much during the week, it's Saturdays when it starts to really get at me!

yeah my guess is the anal glands...some dogs express them on their own....some get impacted which is when they scoot....so maybe she is just expressing them when she goes to the bathroom which is causing the stink...and be sure to tip the groomer its not a fun process lol

I though you had to go to the Vet to do that....probably cheaper at the groomer

My friend has an English Bulldog and told be that they get stinky if you don't clean their creases around their face. Not sure what you would use but I'm sure the groomer would be able to recommend something.

Namaste

a warm washcloth......if you use a soap just double check w the vet or groomer to recommend one...but just make sure to get all the soap off...doggies with skin folds can get bacteria growing in them and that is what causes the smell...

My English bulldog stinks also. He has to have a bath at least once a week. To keep the smell down, you have to clean their wrinkles daily with baby wipes, preferably the unscented non-hypoallergenic kind as Bulldogs are proned to a lot of skin issues.

Open up the folds on their snout and you will see. Also, between their legs. Damn lazy ass dogs are so high maintenance.

Wouldn't you want the Hypo-allergenic ones then? To keep them from having an allergic reaction?

I have these wipes for my dog that I get from petsmart-- they're called Nature's miracle and they're just like baby wipes but for dogs. I wipe her down with them about every other day and it helps keep her smelling good and it keeps her fur relatively clean inbetween visits to the groomer.
There's also febreze-like stuff you can spray on the dog, and then wipe him down w a paper towel.
