Where PetsMart shops..

I can't believe it, but I would never buy from here again.

Support your local breeder where you can see where the animals are born and raised.

I can't believe people actually buy pets from there. It's hard to argue about supplies as they are the usually the cheapest and convenient, but pets you can get from local breeders for far cheaper and of much higher quality than Petsmart sells at.

Petland is a complete joke here. 4-6 month old pups is the ave there. I usually get kicked out of there once a month. I guess they hate it when I refer people looking for dogs to actual breeders or mention that I can get purebreds for a THIRD of what they charge for the same dog. I cant stand how they try to sell MUTTS to people for $1500. Akithards, cockapoos, puggle, bostuahua and what ever other fancy yuppie names they can come up with arent breeds. They are freakign mixed breed dogs. Actually argued with one of their "experts" that pugs are NOT a breed off of a puggle. I didnt know a 2000yr old breed was the offshoot of a 5yr old trendy name for a mixed breed.

PETA is a VERY evil group of people. Not kidding. They had a campaign to come to dog shows and go in peoples unlock motorhomes while we were showing and release all the dogs. They also wanted to open all the crates at the show and do a chained sit in. They were stopped before they could do it.

They believe showing dogs is cruel!..LOL...reaallllllly? Tell that to my Dobermans who bait off of PRIME RIB in the show ring, wear $60 custom made kangaroo leather show leads, and travel around in a 36 ft custom motorhome in which they sleep in a queen size bed at night and are catered to more than the Queen of England..LOL. Hell...I wish I were one of my dogs every now and then!

Depending on state, that could be a felony as some of these show dogs are worth in excess of $50K.

But yet they keep threatening to do something and then dont. Kinda like when they threaten to dress up in deer costumes during hunting season to harass hunters. Yep theres a bright idea. If they really want to do that, I could name a few hunting area that the big city "hunters" like to hunt. These big city "hunters" have no problems shooting anything brown.

Ya, but for those of us that show...it's a serious threat. We leave our motorhome unlocked usually at show sites...for safety sake. Should a fire breakout, a generator quit in 100 degree heat etc etc we want it as easy as possible for someone to be able get in the motorhome and be able to save our dogs. So those 'threats' were all taken very serious. PETA members are always wandering the dog shows. It's one of the reason I NEVER let people I don't know photograph my animals at a show.

As for the $50G showdog...it's a falesy. I've owned a top winning Doberman, and bred the #1 Min Pin in all of South America... even the top winning dogs aren't bought/sold for that kind of money. My top winning Dobe was only $2,500.

Both my pets were adopted. There enough abused animals at shelters, save a pet. Even the pure bred Beagle I had...was a rescued animal. Someone had given him to a elderly adult, who then gave him to a pet store in Wauconda....and I happened to walk that day. Best day of my life

Not entirely true... my uncle is a full-time breeder/handler and some of their dogs that are owned by some celebs are in that neighborhood.

Depends on breed as well.
