You don't always get what you pay for...

The thread Bug started reminded me of something that happened last summer that I think you guys would get a kick out of.

Imagine yourself. You've just ordered a brand new Saleen S7 ( and they just dropped it off the flat bed this morning in your drive way. You grab the keys you say "Hey I want to take this thing for a ride!" You go out have a little fun with her and you come back. You park it and you decide to take your wife out on a ride as well. You go around the block and down the road a ways when it just all of a sudden dies... Oh shit you worry what you've done.

People are driving by now looking at this great car, stuck on the side of the road. You're pretty pissed at this point. You call back at the house and get some people out to help get it off the road a bit. You get it started again and make it to a side road out of the way but it dies before making it to your garage. You go ahead and get some people to help get it to the garage. "No problem" you say just something small and faulty perhaps but you're still pretty ticked.

The next day you've got your guy who works on all of your cars out there taking a good look at it. The alternator seems to be shot. "Well I need to get it inside" you say. You fire her up, back up when all of a sudden you see everyone yelling. You look back and see smoke. "Oh shit!" you shut the car off and jump out. Looks like the alternator started a fire in the engine compartment...

Ahhhh money well spent...

we had a guy who picked up his brand new Viper.. drove around, then home, went to drive it the next day.. it would not start. So he calls all pissed off, so a couple of techs from the dealership drive to this guys house to find out what was wrong...

He didn't push in the clutch pedal

I sympathize with the Viper guy. I once couldn't get my keys out of the car ignition. Called the service department and it turns out the keys won't come out when you stop the car while it is still in Drive......
