Do over?

If you somehow had the ability to do a "do over" and go back in time and go forward from there, would you? And if so, how far would you go back and why?

That can be a very difficult question. Without being to serious I'd have to say I'd go back to my high school days and choose not to make some of the mistakes I made, not because I think they would change my current condition (if the grandfather rule applies) but just because I regret them. Other than that most of the things I've done good and bad I wouldn't change.

Law school was the dumbest decision I ever made, and I'm stuck with it because I chose a bullshit major in undergrad that has only slightly more market value than "race and gender studies," which is to say, none.

Seriously, if you think the law is a good career choice, you're sadly misinformed.

Dude, go for the MBA. I can't warn you away strongly enough.

The legal job market sucks. The industry is growing more slowly than the economy in general, and new law schools are popping up like zits on an unwashed teenager. Exiting schools are admitting the biggest classes in history. Add all this up and the supply/demand situation is f'in horrible.
Unless you go to a top 10 school, its TOUGH. I'm at a top 50 school and even the top 10% of the class is not having much luck finding decent jobs. People here are taking on crushing debt to get a 40-50k/year job, its brutal. Just for the sake of illustration, my most promising summer prospect is as a Law Clerk at a local firm making $8/hour. Seriously. 6 years of education and that's it. I made more working at a Motorcycle shop parts counter and it was a helluva lot more fun.

I'd agree with you. My grandpa passed away this past July and wish I was around more. And I wish I would have not of broken up with this one girl I dated for awhile about 6 years ago....she was so cool and trustworthy. I got tired of driving to Augustana College. A 1.5 hour drive made me break up with a great girl....what a dumb fuck I was.

Would go back to nov 19 1989 and postponed the trip back to the states to finalise the release from my contract with the team. Then I would probably had been the one driving and seen that truck coming with out lights on at 11pm that killed Kara on Nov 22. Or we would had flown. Asked her to just fly there and hire a car there.

Also should had stayed there and finished college after that instead of selling the house and moving to the US.
Instead of either working as a mech eng or with reptiles, I'm stuck in this area with your fruits being a machinist.

If I could take with me what I know today, I'd go back. What good is going back if I wasn't wiser? I'd just make the same mistakes, otherwise.

If I could only go back and switch only one thing, I'd go back to the day where the drunk driver hit me while walking to a friends house back when I was 15 or 16, and I'd just walk a different way. I wouldn't have to deal with shattered teeth, fractured upper mandible, and the pain and headaches I will suffer every day for the rest of my life.

That alone would make me a happier person.

There are many events I wish I could have a "do over" for.. Hell, there are probably several a week.

I thought what if I just went back in time but was not prepared for it. I did not research lotto info prior, ect. How could I capitalize off my knowledge? The sports betting would be shotty for me for the last 10 years. I would probably be off a year on each team winning. I may be able to time the market and know the success of certain stocks better but would I have enough capital to make $$$.

There are only 2 things I regret in life but I don't know if it would justify me going back in time. It has made me a stronger person and let me learn from my mistakes. Sometimes i wish i caoul go back in time but everything happens for a reason and so far my life has been pretty good to me. I like the topic, I'd go back to Freshman year of college... I was a premed bioengineering major that switched to computer science. If I could do it again i'd stay BioE and goto med school. Oh yeah.. I would fuck more bitches too.

Probably party a little less as well.. I did too much partying in college
