Hotels never close. So I'm at work today.

Last time we got hit by big snow, it was a 3 hour drive home for me!

I saw a lot of people sending their cars off on-ramps on the way in.

I think I might just spend the night here at work.

We got the rain too, but it looks like snow is on the way. I sent the little one to school, and I'm off to work. We are both leaving early for a dr. appointment. That's gonna suck, having to drive to the dr, and then home after if we get the snow that's showing on the radar. ~Mandy

So, kids are all home today since Barrington closed the district. Twins are still asleep and one daughter watching TV. Heck, my wife's work called and even she is off today now.

Gotta see if I can move my meetings to conf calls. I am NOT looking fwd to clearing all the stuff in the driveway that is on top of all that slush and ice.

Sounds like some of the roads aren't too bad. Can anyone tell me if I can make it easily from Barrington to Oakbrook today? Or are the roads just getting worse?

Took me an hour to get to work. Lake county I guess is low on salt so some streets are plowed and salt on the ground, others plowed and sand on the ground, and others not even touched. I am going to hate the ride home since I just stepped outside, it's snowing hard in Gurnee.

Put it this way: the Weather Service closes the latest short-term forecast by saying, "Travel is discouraged this afternoon." They're talking snowfall of 1-2 inches/hour later. Phone it in.

If it will be as bad as they're saying, I'm leaving my car by work and taking a freaking train home. Last week my car was parked in front of my house and somebody hit it and run away(thanks God it wasn't that bad).
