A one way ticket to Cali would be nice right now. I actually plan on visiting a friend in Houston on the 29th. I need to get the fuck out of here for at least a few days and "self medicate".

I understand what you mean.

I need one too. Next week I'm outta here! 10 days in Mexico attempting to climb Pico de Orizaba.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I've learned over the oh so many years I've been around, , that February is the time I need a vacation. I can't imagine living in la-la land like Texas, where do you go for vacation then?

But yea, jess and I are driving her car back. Should be a good time, taking my board, picking up her skis, and stopping along the way to "enjoy" ourselves. Looking forward to it!

We'll be taking pictures as long as the weather allows us. That is our goal, to drive, ski, and shoot pics, so CLSB will be loaded down with non 56k friendly photos.

The last time I was there was 2001. If I'm going to enter between someones legs, its definitely NOT going to be a lion!

I was just down in Hazard, KY for business and it was awesome. I was not on vacation and you have to put up with the drawl but the roads and scenery were awesome. Oh yeah the best part was I saw the sun the whole time I was there and it was 50 out.

My best friend lives in Florida and actually comes to Chicago for vacations... She has been up here 3 times so far this winter and is coming again on Thursday. She loves being able to come up here and always hopes for snow so that she can help me shovel since she misses it so much. She is wacked!

Ireland FTW!!! My dad is from Belfast and I've always wanted to go visit it. Hopefully this will be my big trip next year... either this or Disney World again.

that place is aviation mecca.

the closest i can come to that is grabbing a burger by ohare and sittin next to my bike watching them come into 27L, over by the hotels theres a parking lot next to the approach lights. they are a good like 200-300 feet above your head. its always american md80s or ERJs but when you wait for an hour and get those nice fat 747s and 777s coming in from international around noon or 5pm it pays off.

security usually comes within 30 minutes to give you the whole plane spotter interrogation routine.

but they are usually nice about it and understand that youre just there watchin and will tell you to back up a little bit.

My wife works over by ORD, on the east side of 294. She gets to watch the planes land all day and has gotten good at IDing them.

I'm in the Loop so I've got to be content with Flight Explorer. Orbitz pays for a corporate license for my team. We've got it up on a big plasma in our office.
