Help on a Harley decision ?

Wife and I are headed to Vegas in about 2 weeks. We want to rent a Harley and ride to the Grand Canyon. Any suggestions on which model to rent ? I rode a Soft Tail once for a few hours, but I was wondering what other ones might be better ? Any thoughts ?

Road King or Electra Glide. No doubt about it.

If you were going solo, I'd suggest a Dyna.

BuzByU,

Get the Road King (std or classic) if you can. It has a much better ride than a Softtail (Fat Boy, Heritage, etc...) and is not as top heavy as a full Bagger. It has air ride suspension and saddlebags to pack your gear in. If you do not need the top box or radio it is the way to go. I own a HD RK Classic and love it for touring. Good luck and have fun.

Shiny side up, rubber side down.

I rented a Wide glide when I was in Vegas.... Around town it pretty much sucked, but once on the highway it was awsome.

Bring warm clothes, when the sun goes down in the desert it gets cold as hell...... And its a helmet state. Those half helmets need to be outlawed,,,,, talk about awkward!

Oh yea..........And make sure your tank is full before ya leave vegas... the gas stations are far and few between!!!! trust me on this one.

This is gonna hurt!

Go with the Road King for the seats and hard bags. If style is the driving force, go with a Heritage Softtail. FYI, the HS has a balancer in the motor so it suns smoother at low RPM even though it has a solid mount. That surprised me when I rode a friends RK and it vibrated more than my Fatboy.
