my observation about Rockford

For the last month I've been working out of Rockford about half the time. I've been holed up in the Quality Inn here for the last week and a half straight. And I've over the past month I've noticed something about Rockford that totally surprised me.

The women in Rockford are cute as hell! Not just some of them. I'd say 90% are a solid 5,6, or 7. No joke. EVERY girl around my age, (20's to early 30's), is cute as hell. Not in a super hot porn star kinda way. But in a normal mid-western kind of way. Blonde hair, pretty face, good skin, good teeth, nice bodies. And they're friendly as hell. From everywhere to Best Buy, to bar girls, to waitresses, to the chick at the gas station. They're all really cute and down to earth. Totally not what I expected.

I think Bug said it best when he said something like, "Chicago women are all a 3,4, or 5's but they all think they're a 10." Thats really how it is in Chicago. Up here, if you're a guy who's dressed reasonably well and can carry a decent conversation the girls are genuninely interested in what you have to say and actually carry a good conversation.....in Chicago, all they do is slur their speech and spill their jagerbombs all over the table.

On the flip side, most the guys here are huge meatheads. I was listening to this guy try to spit game to some chick at a bar...and it was physically painfull for me to listen too. I sat somewhere else after I came back from the john because it was sooo bad

anyway, no real point to this. just an observation

(and no offense to any of the girls on here. If you girls weren't cool, I wouldn't hang out with you )

My inlaws used to live in cherry valley out, it's actually a great place to live. And yes once you get away form the city, people are genuinely nicer.

It really is nice. I really like the people out here. I noticed the difference almost right away, but I thought it was just a fluke. But 3 weeks in, my opinion hasen't changed at all

Housing is better too, you can pickup a nice ranch on 3/4 of an acre for 150 grand all day.

I would move out that way in a heart beat, if my job was more flexible.

Very interesting Manard. The more you travel the more you will notice things like this. I love traveling to different towns and cities throughout the states. Personally I'm in love with Alaska. I've really been chewing on moving there. I could get a good job up there in a heart beat, the mountains and scenary are breath taking, there's tons of outdoor shit to do, the girls are pretty and the people are really nice. The down side is there aren't any Road Race courses, so I'm staying here.

Are you going to be up there this weekend? I'll be ice racing up that way Sunday. Beer?

I'm heading home tonight I think. But I'll be back up here on Monday though.

Rockford Speedway is also about 4 blocks from where I work. 1/4" mile banked paved oval, (with figure 8 infield). I predict several hot summer nights swilling beer in the grandstands.

Right next to the Speedway you have Forest Hills Lodge. They have really good bands come in there to play. Mostly Rock though...

Uncle Nicks on East and West State St....."The Best Gyros in Town" ")

Carlisle Brewing Company on West State St. before the river....Awesome and I mean AWESOME Microbrewery with good food!

Oscars Bar and Grill is a good place to meet good looking girls!!!! Plus they have outstanding drink specials. And their food is alright.

Eric, no test rides. If you "take her out back", you gotta keep her. No trade backs.

Rockford motor speedway is a good track, raced citcle track out there plenty of times. Bring a cushion to sit on, the stands are aluminum, and not very comfortable. I predict my staying at your place for the Bahama Brackets out there next year.

I am glad you seem to have found a home. Tony is right about the housing, you and I talked about it. And NOW is the prime time to buy a home.

I've always wondered if there was anything exciting in Rockford. I've only driven through to get to 39/51. You said all the guys are meat heads, but are they hot meat heads??? Rockford is so close to me I should drive out and check out the guy selection.
