I shouldn't have done this...

So, I had to get the B-King from the dealer and bring it home. I was going to wait until end of March, but I had to get a bunch of farkle put onto the Goldwing. So, I thought, today would be a good day to bring down the Goldwing and bring up the B-king.

Well, it WAS a great idea until I had to put the B-King away and now I really REALLY want to ride more. This winter stuff blows. I absolutely dislike it all. Luckily the streets were dry, which was one of the reasons I did it, otherwise I would have messed up both bikes. I got a little salt here and there, but nothing that will be a problem.

I'm sure we have all heard it over and over again, but, COME ON SPRING!!!

I rode today, I had a lot of fun, and a pucker, almost craped my pants moment when the rear slid on overly salted roads .

Well, I rode the thing before, actually. It was very brief, however.

Here are my impressions of the 20 minute ride:

I was padded up good because of the cold. Because of this, my legs didn't fiton the tank the way they did when I first rode it. I could tell that wearing a regular contingent of clothing will be fine.

The engine is beautiful. It's busa engine, so what's not to like? It's MUCH lighter than it looks. I didn't pound on the throttle much, but I did poke it here and there and I can tell this thing has some power - supposedly 161 to the rear wheel.

The seating position is just right for me. Very comfortable ride. The seet is good, too. The verdict is out on the gas tank mini fairing which is where your leg must fit in order to be comfortable. It doesn't give me a lot of movement, but then again I won't be riding it like I do the sport bikes.

I got a lot of looks. A couple of people passed me, slowed down, then passed me again to get a 2nd look. It's very radical so I can understand that.

Hopefully I can put some more miles on it soon and give you a real review. So far, I LOVE it. It has a great sound and torque is unbelievable - better than a busa.

Probably true that
It was a great riding day, actually. I got a little cold under the helmet but I did pretty good, even on the B-King.

Wow, I didn't realize the B-King was a 'busa engine! I thought it was part of the SV liniage with a big V-Twin. I'm way more interested in that ugly thing now. That could be the "more refined" SV like bike I've been thinking of.

Speaking of which, I took the SV out today. She fired up first try, and rode beautifully. I took to her like I was never away. Though I should have worn two layers on my legs...I was excited and just jumped on (with gear of course) and went out for a 30 mile ride.

Paul, I can't wait to see your B-King!

It's not that cold.

But no way would I go dodging ice patches and inhaling salt.

Notice how in the Spring it's not that cold, but in the fall, it goes down to 50 and we're freezing?

I read an article about that...something about how it takes 3 weeks for our bodies to adjust to the temperature differences. I wish I knew the specifics on that. It's kinda neat, and I wonder what the body is really doing to help you adjust.
