wedding gift to give to your spouse

i need some ideas for wedding gifts to give to my bride to be. The only thing that I don't want to get her is an animal (no dogs or cats). I kind of feel that our wedding is a life long decision, so this should be a gift that will last as long.

Her favorite jewelry is rings, but given the fact that the wedding is centered around those, I kind of think another ring is redundant.

so im looking for ideas. maybe things you thought of, or things you did.

Give her about 7 inches the night of the wedding, that should be enough. You've already given her a ring, a wedding, a new family, a place to live, the rest of your life...

I think one of those journey necklaces would be best.... You can make up some stuff about beginning a new journey together or something

the only trick is you have a small window in the morning to get them to her. enlist the help of the maid of honor or one of the other bridesmaids. then just go to a flower store, get a huge bouquet and get it to them the night before.

Buy her a Rolex or something of that nature. A nice watch will last a lifetime. It may even outlast your marriage! J/K!!!!! Seriously though, I think a watch is a really good idea.

where are you going for your honeymoon???

the reason i ask, is b/c you can get her something that relates to where you are going...

for example...we went to hawaii for our honeymoon, so i bought her these earrings from this Hawaiian jeweler and she loved them. wore them everyday on our honeymoon.

My hope that helped a little...

we are both huge baseball fans, so we are going to see a red sox's game in boston right after the wedding as a quick get away. but we already got those tickets so that would have been cool, but alas, it's already been spoiled.

My wife and I went shopping together for our wedding presents. We have deals were we pick out our own presents, which I think works great. We still surprise each other with little stuff, but big jewelry purchases and similar, we go together.

She picked out a Tiffany's necklace and I picked out the Hayden Tissot watch. Neither of use would have thought to buy those for each other if we went alone. In the end, we both got what we wanted. Just a thought.

thanks for the advice.

but my finances are my own business. I didn't post asking for your thoughts on weather or not I should get her a wedding gift, but more to the point, what I should get her.

after the wedding, I am also going to put a roof over her head feed her, and do my very best to keep her happy. Does that mean I shouldn't get her an aniversary gift as well?

Yea personally.... if I was getting married, I wouldn't expect anything from my future husband that day. I mean maybe like a lil something on the honeymoon, but just like a lil something... nothing like a necklace or ring...

I like the rolex idea if she doesn't already have a nice watch.

I know you are looking for something creative but you know her best. Do something that is personalized to her and your relationship. It doesn't have to be something big. Maybe something around your first date or something along those lines. Write up a magazine about your relationship. "Life" Couple of the Year... you can do some sort of spin off. Just go personalized, it will mean more than a journey necklace which is not original and the message comes from the commercial not you.

"Live life or get the hell outta my way. "
