I'm Getting Fast!

My lap times are ridiculously fast. I mean after only 4 track days, I'm running 1:24 flat at BHF. I need to slow down or do something about my bike. It's out of control. I was told by one CR to slow down, actually 2 of them told me to slow down, both Greg and Wink told me.

What can I do about this problem? Any special diets I can try out?

Fine. Even though I originally read it wrong but here you go:

I can't give out good advice because my Akrapovic pipe is constipated.

So let me change that and say that you should eat what pcohenchicago is eating to put some pounds on. That will definitely slow you down on the track!

I can't recall if they made it the initial warm up lap or two.. I remember this... I am cruising along at a fairly slow clip on ice cold slicks... and I hear this guy on the Duc fly by me.. FAST... I remember thinking "what the hell is he thinking? THe corner is right ahead.. and there is no way he has heat enough in his.... " it trailed off right there because not 20' in front of me I watch him go railing off the track... THe bike still had a dealer plate on it.. I believe I saw him punching air and screaming out obscinities as he tumbled behind his brand new used to be beautiful toy off into the corner....

Dude, I don't want to jinx you, but I know I settled right down after my first crash. Sorry to use the "C"word, but it's a good idea to remember how dangerous this sport is. Did the CRs say you had good form? Just be careful, and listen to those guys; they know what they are talking about. I don't mean to lecture, it's just that all (4) of my crashes except one were caused by overconfidence and envelope expansion. I got up and walked away from two, was sore for a couple of weeks from another, and was out of work for a month from the last one (although that was the one where I was hit). I don't mean to lecture, but take it easy, Grasshoppah. MotoGP can wait another season for your debut.

Oh, and if you were just joking, disregard my lecture. I'm just a crotchety old fart.

My form is decent, doesn't scream for a skooling. When I typed this I thought just what you were thinking in the C word. I'm scared shitless when I go out there. Running fast is only a couple laps... the rest I'm working on things.

Thanks though, I needed an ego check!

Not to quote my own post... But just out of curiosity... Was this duc rider anyone on here?

oh and Mort... You could always buy a slower bike... Say.. an RS50 ?

Or maybe a couple classes... a few sponsors and a career change?
