Breaking: Boyd Coddington dies at age 63

We just got word that world-renowned car customizer, Boyd Coddington died this morning around 6 am. Although we don't have any details on what caused Coddington's death, we do know that he was in and out of the hospital over the past month. A spokesperson for the Coddington Corporation confirmed his passing earlier today and they'll be releasing a statement soon.

Our heartfelt condolences to his friends, family and fans.

I don't want to speak Ill about the dead, but fuck him. The guy was a jackass and an idiot as a businessman. Read about how he treated his ex wife and how he managed that shop before they got big (which was due to nothing Boyd did, they had to hire a guy to run the company a' la Steve Jobs) and you'll think twice about how great of a guy he was.

This guy never did much for me, interesting cars though. Hopefully the business will go to someone who knows how to run it.

he lost touch with the little people that got him into the buisness and kept his buisness running...he got overpriced with all the work he did, including those damn wheels...he started only dealin with rich assholes...and had problems getting his bills paid these last few years...my buddy did some accounting work for his wheel buisness and that was the only thing keeping his other buisenss alive...he was killing himself by only going to do the pricey shit...but when he was good, he was good...it is a shame he is gone...

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Holy fu*k! I'm totally shocked to hear this. He's a pain in the ass on his show, but I love it. I hope they keep it going so we can watch his crazy train wreck of a wife totally piss off Duane.

That's what he gets for firing sugar britches.... RIP I guess.

Was gonna post this earlier, but waited until someone else posted a similar one.

Coddington was a complete prick. You DO NOT EVER treat employees like that or allow your shop manager to do that either. I'm really surprised that none of his employees or ex-employees didnt file a suit against those two twits (Boyd and Duh-whine). ALthough the only reason I ever watched on occassion is to maybe get a glance at one of the crew dropping Duh-whine. Ran into Duh-whine at Kutter HD in Janesville (the retard is from Beloit, WI). He had 2 body guards to protect his 5'3" ass.

Look at the talented people that LEFT coddington to go on their own. Foose, Mike, their painter and that bearded fabricator which was one of the only two there that knew how to actually do serious fab work (the other one died).

Boyd was a cock that used his employees like mules. True story. RIP though.
