Tattoo question

I got a larger arm piece about 2 1/2 weeks ago and we ran out of time after 5 hours. I need to go back and get it finished once it heals. I never had to have multiple sessions before, when is it healed? Its done scabbing/peeling for a week now but the skin is still shiny. Is it healed yet or do I need to wait for the glossy look to go away? The rest of the work will be mostly border/background with some fill, not retouching of the first session though it will obviously be close to the old stuff. Is it ok the get more work done yet or when? Thanks for any help.

Jeff

Your best bet is to wait 3 weeks between sessions.

I wait at least three weeks if the artist is working in the same area. I have done once a week for a month working on my leg, different areas each time, but it was too much on my body. It took much longer to heal, and I felt run down. They let you get sleeved at Metra?

Probably not . I couldnt find anything in the guidelines, so I decided to get a rule made up especially for me... I'll most likely be wearing underarmor all summer to keep it covered up. The artist told me on Friday it was ready to go whenever. You know my schedule problems Dave so I might be off today and I want it finished. Its been fully peeled for a week or so now but i thought the shiny skin needed to go away? Like I said he told me to come in when I can to finish it but I dont want it to scar or anything. I'm ready but I'll wait if i need to. Dont want it to get messed up.

i say wait then just for the hell of it.

figure what matters, 1 week patience = 10 years of "bumps" tatto from small scarring.

just wait a little bit. no rush man!

Being pretty inked up myself I agree with everyone else I would probably wait at least 3 weeks but of course everyones body is different.
I do like the way you think though not finding anything in the guidelines so you decided to get a rule made up especially for you
That sorta sounds like me so the fact that I have a full sleeve doesn't really get me in trouble but.... when I had the blue mohawk that raised some eyebrows LOL even better I still had it when I took my "official" ID pic
