AT&T Wireless ?

I have a 3 line family plan (my 2 brothers and I) and we have 700 anytime minutes... it looks like we went over by 517 minutes last month and my bill spiked an extra 240 bucks. I got billed .45 cents for the 517 minutes.... my question is does anyone know if I would have any luck calling in and having them backdate an increase in plan. I was thinking of switching to the 1400 anytime minutes plan which costs 20 dollars more. Would a CSA rep backdate that and essentially remove the 240 dollar charge? Has anyone done something like this? I just don't want to pay that extra 240 bucks

I highly doubt they will do that. however, they might be able to knock it down a bit. When you do call them though, politely ask to speak to a supervisor right off the bat. The people that answer the phones are idiots and have to put you on hold to ask the supervisor anyways.

Good luck with that. You are SOL. Unless it's a mistake on their part, you need to pay the bill.

We had an issue when someone forgot to renew our long distance plan with AT&T. The result was a $14k phone bill, we called them up and they offered to backdate a plan change. AT&T are generally pretty good on that side of things.

I will do that and give them a call. I'll ask for a supervisor right off the bat. Hopefully I don't get stuck with that 240 dollar charge. Thanks for the info fellas.

Here's an idea. Sell me your Iphonez for $240, I'll sell my Tilt for $300, you pay off the bill, buy another Iphonez. Done and done. Sucka.

Phone companies are rape artists.

I have a total of a $70 plan that comes to about $120 a month after taxes etc without going over any limits.

That's not the phone company Jackass. It's state, city, county, district, 911, ...etc. taxes. My plan is $20 a month for unlimited everything but I still have to pay over 25% in taxes.

They will do it unless you have a history of getting adjustments. Talking to the rep nicly and not demanding a supervisor will get you further.

I hope you get stuck with the bill. You fucked up by going over and now you don't want to pay.

Listen here Mr. Asian mathematical know-it-all, I sign up for some contract that says $70/mo and pay $50 more. That's why I'm upset.

Jeezus! $20 unlimited? What? Hook it up focker.

60 dollars for 700 minutes 10 dollars per line additional... so 80, 20 dollars data plan, 29.99 unlimited family text plan

Thats 130 bucks.. another 35 in taxes and i SHOULD be paying 165-170 a month but that usually isn't that case..

I'm going to ask to move to a 80 dollar 1400 minute plan so I hope my monthly bill is just under 200.

You aren't a Sprint "employee" like I am so

You have a right to be upset but put the blame where it belongs. It's not the phone company that is to blame. It's the greedy politicians. Damn that George Bush!!!!

Same here, hidden charges and fees everywhere. I've called and asked politely for them to go through these charges with me and asked what they can do for me, everytime they offer other plans...

Switch to Sprint and go for their $99 a month unlimited plan. You get unlimited everything, data, calls, texts, the works.

Not gonna read this whole thread. T Mobile did it for me but I haven't tried with AT&T. Just be real polite and tell em you used to have T Mobile and they did it for you. They will most likely renew your contract as penalty though. Wait didn't you just switch recently though? You're probably SOL then...

Show them the money . No harm in trying to call, but if they say they will change the plan, make sure they aren't starting the term and contract over, and renewing you for another 2 years . Sprint just lifted this thankfully, so as long as you keep a $30 + plan you can switch it up and down whenever you like without renewing the contract length .

Ahhh so happy... just finished talking to an ATT representative... she was extremely helpful. She backdated a 1400 min plan for me and saved me around 280 bucks! My 490 dollar cellphone bill dropped to 208. It should drop another 20 next month as well. Thank god!!

I'm suprised AT&T hooked you up. I might have shitty Nextel but I only pay $55 a month for 3 phones w/taxes. Friend of mine works for Corp. Nextel/Sprint.
