and a new motorcycle... 2008 Hayabusa

Thanks to the best fiance anyone can ask for working behind the scenes to get this bike for me I love you baby!

... and a thank you to Odysseys, HDTony, and any others I don't know about who helped her out checking around for prices. A big thumbs up to Fred at Chicago Cycle who worked his magic getting a good deal!

Needless to say I am a very happy man right now.

i dont want 1, but they are cool bikes.

ive ridden my bro in laws when he had it for a few hundo miles.

and 1 time i tested a busa since i forget his name ( a CPD guy) and i grounded both his mufflers by accident. i thought he was gonna be pissed when i returned. but he was laughing his ass off and i told him, AHHH just tell your friends you did it.

it was like i gave him a hundo or something for that type of happy reaction.

and that was 5 years ago when i wasnt the rider i am today.

The first time I rode one I thought it felt slow, but it just handled the acceleration so well that it actually felt much slower than it actually was. They are very easy to cruise at 170mph (indicated) i've since found out.
Everything drags on them. The lower fairings touch soon after the mufflers and pegs do. Busa's are much better to ride than to look at and most people don't understand that til they really ride one.

My first impression of the Busa was very similar.. It's just so smooth.
That said riding the busa completely changed my view of it. I had always thought it was to big and heavy etc... The first time I rode one I realized, this IS the bike for americans! Being 6'1 and around 265lbs (err *mostly* muscle ) I fit on the busa like those tiny japanese riders fit on the R6!
Then they went and tossed in a motor that makes someone my size on a bike that big move along as fast if not faster than most of the lightweight racers!

The Hayabusa is a muscle c...bike!

I actually want to add one to the stable for sport touring, can you imagine how great that bike would be for that use? Comfortable and rather quick on the highways, and handles good enough on the twistie bits that I would have a hard time really finding its limits...

Congrats. I like the color but I'm not a fan of the new body style. Something about the back end kind of ruines it for me but thats my opinion. I do like the upgrades to the motor, brakes, and everything else they've done after all these years.

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

No excuses...insane power, comfortable. It a straight line bike Then there is "It fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down" The true reason why they want to ride one, everyone want to go 180 plus MPH, just once, and the reason they are afraid, it's like going out with a really fat girl, your having fun, but don't want your friends to know All it needs now is a chromed stretched swing arm

Actually in the Sporting Touring crowd it's a much loved bike....I guess love is blind.

Muskrat thank Jen on the good choice of colour. Do LEOs get speeding tickets or do you flash the badge do the secret handshake and skate?

Congrats on the new Busa You'll be addicted to the power VERY soon

...and, don't let people tell you they won't corner. If you set up the suspension correctly, it will not scrape parts quite as soon when leaned over. Once you get used to it, you owe it to yourself to take it to Road America where you can enjoy the mile long main straight.

This was during my second track day in beginner group in 2005. Way too much fun, but then I got addicted to the track pipe, and got the GSXR-600.

Most cops won't write another cop or firefighter (sometimes nurses, Dr's too). BUT...let it be known, and I know from personal experience, that there are cops who write EVERYONE, even other cops. There's a few I know of: one in Lombard (personal expereince), one in Elk Grove (personal experience again!) and one in Bartlett.
