IPOD question

I tried searching to see if this was asked already but I didn't see anything...

Is it possible to have two IPOD's linked to one computer with seperate libraries? I am buying my daughter an IPOD for her birthday and I want to make sure that we can both have ours linked to the same computer before I buy it.

When IPOD's first came out I was told it wasn't possible but I don't know if that was correct or if it has changed since.

RISC is good. Technically the movie is shit, but visually it's lots of fun. Love it!

Or you can just setup different playlists in the same profile, when you hook up that particular ipod, use the specific settings for that ipod on what to sync, that way if any songs are shared for you and your kids they are available in different playlists. I have 4 ipods hooked to mine, mine, my wifes and my two kids, we all have different playlists and different models of ipods setup and it works nicely.

she said separate libraries, that's why I suggested separate windows profiles.

^^^^^ thats to easy

Its funny how everyone says mac/apple are the best yet ipod users are always trying to figure out how to do something with them

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

Depends on what type of iPod you get. One of my kids has a shuffle and I have a playlist that I put songs in just for her. I can uncheck those songs if I don't want them so that they don't load on to my iPod. I can only take so much of Kid's Bop.

I agree with this. It allows different I-pods with the same computer yet your kids music wont be on your I-pod. If you want to keep the music seperate use the ratings column to do that. kids 1 star yours 2 star. Then sort them using the stars. Not what it is meant for but it works.

I'm going to get her a Nano I think. Yeah, kids music sucks!! I was okay with listening to Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus or whoever she is and that crap but now I'm over it.

Thanks for the ideas! Sounds like there are plenty of options for me to do this.

right from the iTunes help page.

Using multiple iTunes libraries
You can have more than one iTunes library. You might want mulitple libraries so that you could, for example, have a library of holiday music that wouldn't appear in your Party Shuffle mix the rest of the year. Or you could use separate libraries to keep your music on your computer and your movies on an external hard disk.

To create or use a different iTunes library:
If iTunes is open, quit it.

Hold down the Shift key while you open iTunes (from the Start menu, choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes).

In the dialog that appears, do one of the following:

■To create a new library, click Create Library.

■To choose a different library, click Choose Library.

You can name your iTunes library (the folder containing all of your iTunes content and the iTunes Library.itl file) whatever you like and store it anywhere.
