almost had a heart attack

So I'm leaving work in Rockford tonight. I was in a hurry, was half hour late getting out, couldn't get something to print so I was a little flustered leaving. I'm leaving with 2 laptops, and a pair of $2000 roll dies for a hot job, (about the size of a carton of cigs and solid tool steel. They also take 6 weeks to make). So I'm putting the laptops in my truck and I put the roll dies on top of the truck while I loaded the laptops in my truck......

Fastforward to about 15 minutes ago. I'm sitting on my couch at home watching TV. 90 miles aways from where I loaded up my truck around 5:30pm. All of a sudden it hits me. I let out a huge, "OH FUCK!". Did I grab them off the roof of my truck when before I left? I don't know! Can I drive 2 hours back to Rockford and go look in the street? But I have to have the dies in Glenview tomorrow early. I run out to my truck, saying, "oh fuck," the whole way. I'm trying to figure out what to do next, convinced the $2000, 6-week lead time tools are laying in a ditch 90 miles away. If I can even find them again!

The roll dies were in the back seat of my truck. . My heart is still pumping hard. I need a beer now

Eric

I woke up the other day (Easter) to the sound of my ringing phone, looked up at the clock and saw it was 7:30, I was 2 and a 1/2 hours late for work. I jumped up and franticly tried to find my pants, keys and still ringing phone all at the same time. I go to the bedroom, I awoke from the coach, girlfriend is not there. Find my phone, it's my girlfriend who called. Now I wondering where the fuck she is at 7:30 in the morning, she isn't a morning type person. I call her back, she says..."I'm coming back from Yoga, how was your nap". It takes me about a minute for it to sink in... Yeah, it was 7:30 at night, not morning. What a kick in the nuts, I got about 100 more gray hairs for nothing.

I did that the other morning, but I mustve read the clock wrong and thought it said 915 when in fact it said 815.. and i was soo convinced, i called my boss and told him i was gonna be like 45 minutes late, and he says "dood, its only 815

I know you're situation Dr. For the last 2 years of high school I'd take a nap every Wednesday afternoon. In the winter around 6:45 it looked the same lightwise in the AM and PM. Nearly everytime I woke up I had to double check a clock to see what time it was an if I got to eat dinner or breakfast.

that happened to me only it was 4:30 in the morning and on my day off. i actually got showered and dressed.

but that wasnt the worst part. the worst thing ive ever done was wake up, shower, dress, eat breakfast and drive to school on a fucking saturday. i couldnt get into the school and i was wondering why.

Yes, on the weekend sometimes. Yesterday, I woke up at 3am and jumped out of bed to get ready. Ran into the kitchen to start eating breakfast and looked at the microwave clock realizing I would be a little early.

Eric? What are you doing setting a solid block of steel on the roof of your truck scratching the paint? LOL!

This isn't even near comparison but still funny...

One time I fell asleep shit faced on the couch with the TV on. I woke up and I was staring at the TV wondering WTF the people were saying on some show. I stared at the TV for what seamed to be about over a minute. Once I realised it was the spanish channel I rolled over and fell back asleep.

Yea yea not scary I know.

That is paranoia setting in after long term use of that stuff. Not joking.

Has this been scientifically proven?

Nah, just certain things. For example, when i leave the house, i'll check the locks 2-3 times. Just safety precautions since no ones home all day.

Damn you guys are hilarious!

Eric, I'm glad you didn't lose those dies. Talk about a major f*ck up at your new job.

I've had a few moments like that. The other day I forgot my house keys in the house and on the way to the train my wife asked if I wanted her to go back and get them. I said nah, I can get in through the garage. On the bus ride home I suddenly remembered that the garage keypad hadn't been working and I needed a new battery. Fortunately it did work that day so I wasn't stuck outside for hours. The funny thing is the keypad hasn't worked since.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
