I was stuck in the traffic jam caused by all the gapers. Fire was just burning out when I drove by it. not much of the truck left, just a melted heap of metal and plastic. It did not look like a gas truck to me tho.

The exit ramp is still closed off. The EPA is out there and has been since yesterday. They were still working with portable lights at 2am. They are sucking up the mess in the ditches with a vaccum truck. They have absorbant bats out all over the place and they are skimming the soil out and hauling it away. They do that anytime there is a spill. I got a few pic on the camera phone. I'll upload them later today.
Had some internet problems and this is the first time I've been able to get back on but here are some pice from my camera phone. The smoke plume is from i-55 southbound on the ramp to 355 nb to avoid the traffice. The others are from sb 55 right at lemont road where it happened. One of the pics really suck cuz my antenna got in the way and there was a bad glare on the windshield.
