Officer Vanlaanen- Hottest cop EVAR!

So my buddy's 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab decided to barf it's rear end this afternoon.

So we spent from 5pm until 7:30pm trying various things to free the rear end so we could move it out of rush hour traffic. Luckily we had the assistance of Officer Vanlaanen to keep people from rearending us... Nice cop and friggin beautiful too. Worth getting a ticket just to see her smile... seriously, start speeding through Aurora, it's worth your time.

Werd, that's not the rear end I wanted to see.

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.

I pulled a real slick line, I walked up to her after the tow showed up and said, "Here's my name, DL and phone number, in case you need it for the report or for Saturday night". She smiled, I winked and walked away. After pulling that ridiculously bad line, I wasn't about to ask her for a picture, last thing I need is to end up in cuffs for being a cheesedick.

That's what we did, if you look closely at the picture though, you'll see the gear on the inside of the case that was attached to the driveshaft has wedged itself into the main gear. This meant that even with the driveshaft unhooked the rear axle was still locked up, we could have moved but we would have ruined the rear tires, a tow costs well less than two 275/xx-20 tires.

The actual pin removal wasn't that bad, no spurting blood, no crying. Pain has definitely increased since then but still not too bad while using Vicodin. I'm not getting my hopes up on riding this season since to get up to a reasonable amount of strength after the first surgery took ~4 months and this one was far more invasive. I plan to be on two wheels next year... Putting on a shit-load of miles. Planning on getting something upright to keep weight off the wrist, possibly a Fizzer or SV. Was interested in a DRZ400 SM but would like to be able to ride highways and keep up (without blowing a motor. LOL)
