Kawasaki's RULE

So I haven't ridden the sport bike since my son was born. This weekend I decided to try and take it out for a spin. It's been sitting for a little over a year. I've started it twice before this weekend. The last time was about 6 months ago. The only prep work I did for storage was put stabil in the gas. i figured nothing would work. So I dug it out of all the crap that was sitting on top of it and fired it up. To my surprise it started without a problem. I checked the tire pressure thinking it would be flat. 30 front and 30 rear. Wiped all the dust of my helmet and off I went. I forgot how fast these things are. nearly shit my pants when I opened it up. And your cheeks can get sore from smiling to much.

After a brief ride I came back and decided to try and kick over the KLX. It's been sitting for almost 2 years with the same storage prep. I've been using my wife's dirt bike. After trying to kick it over for 5 minutes I realized the choke was off. Turned it on and 2 kicks later it was alive.

I fired up my yz this weekend. about 10 kicks and nothing but me breathing heavy and swearing.

Then I realized the gas was off. LOL, 2 kicks and it fired right up, off to tear up the farm fields I went

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

KLX is going to be up for sale. I need a bike that fits me a little better.

I crashed my GPz550 a few years ago. Took me 20 minutes to find the gas tank. Got it home after it sat for two months. Started right up. Mandy has an aunt that works at Kawi and we can get her discount. Hmmmm......

I had a similar experience last weekend with my old FZR600. It sat for 2 years with no proper storage prep at all, the gas tank wasn't even full. I had to get it running to sell it last weekend. After a new battery, fresh gas, and draining the old gas from the carbs it fired right up. It started easier than my R1 did and the R1 was stored properly all winter.
