holy crap-- used one of my lives up today..

so there I was..

Heading home on the Kennedy in rush hour traffic. Bipping along with traffic, doing 65-70 and POP!!!! a car goes flying by me, HITTING MY ARM AND HANDLEBAR with his passenger side mirror, as he continues to move ahead of me into my lane!!! He was doing 10-20mph faster than me, and his brake lights were NOT EVEN ON... Steering goes wack but stays generally straight... I do a fast mental checklist-- arm ok, steering ok, mirrors in place, still surrounded by other cars... and keep going. I was too surprised to be angry... serious WTF moment.. but all is good- elbow's on ice and handlebar has got a small scuff in the slider.. weird. All I can think of is the guy was weaving through traffic and didn't see me.

Commuters-- avoid riding at dusk!!

Otherwise, do me a favor: next time you see some fucktard cage weaving through traffic 20mph faster than everyone else, honk at them.

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

I would get a plate number and report the incident. And possibly other stuff too. After all the close calls from last year, I lost the thrill of commuting on the bike. Bad enough I have people trying to be in my lane when I'm in a cage.

Did you have to pull the seat from out of your bung hole Thats why I wear yellow and black stuff with reflective piping...supposedly yellow and black combinations is what the human eye picks up quickest visually.

I have notice at State Trooper building's they have a huge sign out front, reads START SEEING MOTORCYCLES I certainly hope cagers do!

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

Glad your alright. That could have been very bad. You kept your cool and stayed in control, good job.

I get very defensive when on the bike. I have a feeling if that would have happened to me, I'd have caught up to him, and made sure he saw me, and left a lasting impression to watch for me next time.

What good is getting his license plate? The cops won't do anything. You don't have any proof like a camera or anything. No one was harmed. The cops will brush it off.

It sucks but I've been driven off the road lots of times and reported it. It goes to the dead letter office I'm sure.

Probably the worst thing you can do is chase him down, especially on a bike. I mean, here is a guy who has already proven to you that he doesn't care and now you are going to try to show him up on a bike.

I'm sorry, but if you tick him off by chasing him you never know he could actually try to knock you down at that point.

Damn dude, glad you are alright.

Cars aren't used to us yet, so watch out everyone. My personal favorite is when they just move into your lane without looking, then give you the "I didn't do anything wrong" look when you kick their car.

Hey Terra .. remember on one of the girls rides there was an ass that was doing that, then when he got in front of the group he slowed down really slow. Terra didn't like that and decided to go up to the guys window and bang at is yelling at him. That was funny.
