Don't think a surge suppressor is going to make much of a difference in a lightning strike.. They just melt themselves into a closed circuit.. I had a friend who's house was struck and his powerstrip was basically a blob... Not sure about the brand though...

They will protect you from the little surges and stuff.. but if they get in between the lightning and the ground on it's way down... I don't think that most of them are rated to that kind of juice

LOL. Lightning will fry anything. We lost a bunch of stuff when I was a kid and lightning hit our house. It knocked shingles off the roof and popped up a ton of nails. Even charred some of the lumber under the roof; the trusses were smoking. All stereo and TV equipment was toast.

I've also seen many fried computers from lightning hitting phone equipment and frying the motherboards via the modem.

I'm back.

Yeah, at least 5 lbs.

My pants do fit a lot better now. This will make running at the gym easier, too.
