I rode in the wind today... to from work... about 3 hours out there today...it was pretty bad but not that bad. ...and me and my bike combined only weigh like 300lbs. lol... with ferrings on the side, a side gust easily turns me into a sailboat.

I don't know what to suggest, when Im going fast on a turn, I treat it as speed strength and lean and go faster. When Im stopped and its shaking me back and forth I lean towards the gust. And when its making me drift, I just swirve back in slightly - same motion as dodging around those damn potholes.... come to think of it, I was more focused on those things today then the wind!

I also rode to work today. It was not great but not bad enough I felt endangered. Every year the wind gets easier to deal with thankfully, even on a bike that acts like a sail.

ahh it's probably not as bad as when I got my YZF back in Feb '06 and rode it in <30 w/ strong winds on I-74 near Champaign(I was down at school at the time)... cold winds = more force = scary riding...

I rode some rediculous winds last year coming home from texas slabbing it across Iowa. I must have been at a 60degree angle at the very least the whole way.

I just got my bike last week and havent ridden it more than just around Streamwood, until yesterday where I had the itch to drive it to work (hr away). Woo! What a learning experience. I almost drifted off the road twice when hitting open fields around me. I just tucked and rode and everything worked out well. Today was a cakewalk compared to yesterday (just hope I beat the rain home or its time for another learning experience).

Drill a pattern of holes in your fairing.

Seriously though, they need to do this for the GP bikes when they race at PI for example. Very, very windy there.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

Hell no eat some HOHOs to gain weight so the wind wont budge you.
Try riding in the mountains. I was in Wyoming over going over a mountain pass and the wind was at 50 mph. I was at a decent lean to over come the wind. Then when I went passed a semi there would be no wind so you turn into it. Then when you passed the semi the wind would try to blow me off the road again. Damn that was a fun ride!
