this is a case where i think the oil companies should take the hit instead of it being passed on to the public. They still would make money on top of the billions they make already

Well I'm glad you think you're so special that the oil companies and their stockholders should only keep up with inflation just so its a little cheaper for you to fill your tank. Good self-esteem and all that. .

I think that public servants like LEOs and firefighters should take a big salary cut instead of passing it on to the public in the form of taxes, since we don't even get to choose whether or not, or how much to pay, unlike gas.

Exxon is making a little more...Still only 11% though

I usually only fill up at Conoco Phillips stations and their subsidiaries(Conoco, Phillips 66, and 76)...they do not import ANY foreign oil.

If I remember correctly, the point of going into business is to make money, not to provide for the common good.

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

Oh yeah, we got a good one today. Where's the popcorn?

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

No more Haliburton to kick around anymore...they fired everybody working in the states and moved shop out of the country (and the politicians are bitching about this now! what did they expect? be the whipping boy for 7 years and expect them to stay and provide jobs? )

I'm looking at 4.01 a gallon for regular now in Seward Alaska.

Fuck it! You know what? I'm not happy about the prices but I'm also not going to stop pumping it in my tank. I just have to cut back on other things to compensate. For example, I'd rather go places and pump gas in my bike or truck rather than pay a stupid cable bill every month or go out to eat a lot. There are ways to cut back on shit in your life to compensate. All these people driving 50 thousand dollar plus gas guzzling vehicles have no rite to complain.

Apperently you reading skills are failing today
So you're asking a question that you already (think) you know the answer to? Thats called a rhetorical question. Rhetorical questions are used to make a point. Your point obviously being you think the oil companies are making too much money on high gas prices. Ergo, you are bitching about gas prices vis-a-vis oil company profits.

That much is obvious to anyone reading your posts. Being deliberately obtuse is a really poor persuasive technique, BTW.
