Mad Max

So after seeing it on tv the other night i remembered how much i loved that movie. There are a ton of things wrong with it but its just fun for me to watch. I am for some reason filled with a desire to build/restore a bike from that movie now... anyone have any info on the exact makes of a few of the bikes? Or got links to decent pictures? I know for the most part they were mid 70's kawi's...

Even heroes know when to be scared.

you saw it on TV? get the DVD, i can only imagine how much they had to cut.

mad max 2 (aka the road warrior in america) is probably the best sequel ever too.

They used what they had available. Most were Kawi. Bubbas bike looked liek a Suzuki GSthough. The original was kinda low budget.

Get the original version on DVD. Not the US dubbed version but the actual Aussie version. Quite a bit of dialogue was omitted when they dubbed it over for the US. Quite honestly I dont have a clue as to why it was dubbed when it was brought here.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Mad Max watch it last night again too, that Black interceptor (Ford Falcon XB Coupe, V8 351) is awesome! I think the goose man was riding a 77 KZ 1000.

these are seriously two of my favorite movies. they cost next to nothing to make (mel gibson was paid next to nothing) and the special effects are still really impressive today.

Absolutely get the DVD with the original Aussie dialoge. MUCH better than the studio looped American version.

And to top it off, the bonus features have a "Pop Up Video" version where they pop up trivia about the movie including the bikes, the cars, the dialog, lots of making of stuff that just cracked me up!

"Oy!" (Maxes wife says I'm crazy about you in sign language)

Pop Up Video "Oy is Aussie for Hey!"

Damn I love that movie. I can hardly wait till the 4th one comes out. I heard rumor that Heath Ledger was slated to be Max's son!

My favorite parts in Road Warrior were with the english guy.

"Aint never seen a man beat the snake before!! Reflexes!! That's what you 'ave...me, I got brains!!"

"Hey, hey hey hey hey....a fella...a quick fella...might have a weapon under there...I'd have to pin his 'ed to the panel"

aut cum scuto aut in scuto
