I got to school in a timely manner today via the Blue Line. I was a little angry that I couldn't get a decent nap in. AC blowing cold as hell air in my face + a terrible seat = no nap for me.

I missed it, what happened? We have had a few derailments on the north side of our yard, and Grand avenue west of Wolf road gets shut down. It is a narrow bridge, so then there is a derailment there, the boxcars hang off the bridge. I have not wrecked anything in almost 9 days. JRG77 (Jason) on the other hand had a hella wreck, tiping over a loaded auto rack monday. His first and current bike is also a Ducati. Now you have others to hate.

The Grand Ave. Train line had a stopped or derailed Freight From Harlem to past Oak Park Ave. I screwed everything up by the house.

That is on the Union Pacific highline. Mp 8.8 to 8.0. I had nothing to do with it. Really odd to have a derailment there. It is straight rail. But with the rough winter all our rail is fucked. Or a rail car fuggered up. Oh well, sucks to be you.
Problem with a derailment there is if a train is on main track 2, there is nowhere to cross over. Then the trains stack up. I'd better get to sleep, gonna make some good money the next few days.

I'm curious too. Hate to get back to a mess. I didn't know Jason was on here. What's that like 3 UP employees now? You & Jason ripping up the yard again? See what happens when I'm not there. Sheesh.

That is odd. That's probably the best maintained track on the system. Bet it was mechanical. You know how you guys like to pull out on the mainline & then report a problem.

I hit a carknockers truck. It wasnt my fault. The pictures tell all. Everyone was ok. Jason took out 19 main and 2 hump. Car picked a switch 40 deep. Bad switch. Stuff just kinda happens.

Carknockers = people who inspect and repair rail cars.
19main and 2 hump = tracks next to each other
car picked a switch = switch opened enough to allow the car to go on both 19main and 2 hump at the same time.
40 deep = 40th car on a cut of cars.
And to all you Dave13 haters..... I heart you all.

Of course, you have too. Otherwise he couldn't tell you 'bout his day or night at work. Railroaders have a very funny lingo that only them or their spouse understands.

BTW, I'm the one that calls Dave to work at 0300 for the extra jobs he loves. 12 & tow or he won't go.

The only signal I have seen is on wolf and lake street lately. BTW, someone just tore up yard 9. 7 tracks out of service. I didn't do it And Rudedog74 is Rudy. M19a electrician, msf instructor and all around good guy. He introduced me to my wife, so I owe him a lot.

Sounds like derailments are a normal thing on your railroad. What kind of railroad do you guys run? Blue line gets derailed once and everyone is pissed.

I work mainly in the yard. Yard track is maintained much different than main line rail. It is spring. The ground thaws out, the track sinks, and stuff gets scattered. Just another day in paradise.
