Had a scorpion before, wrecked with it, bought an Arai in its place, and want to ditch the arai and return to scorpion. IMO much better lid for the $$$. Hard to beat by any other.

What if I told you insane was working fifty hours a week in some office for fifty years at the end of which they tell you to piss off; ending up in some retirement village hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet on time? Wouldn't you consider that to be insane?

you've tried both on right? If you did and Scorpion fits you well then go with that.

ASSUMING both fit properly, Scorpion. From what I've seen, Icons are generally POS and I wouldn't trust the few brain cells I have left to one.

I had a Scorpion last season and I loved it. I have an Icon and a few Shoei's and I thought the Scorpion was way better. Better fit for my head, lighter, quieter, etc.

I just picked up the icon domain perimeter helmet. It's a great helmet. They're a bit nosiy with all the vents, but who doesn't wear ear plugs? Visors change quite quickly too. The fit and finish on it is phenomenal. I have a Scorpion exo-400 as well, and wanted to get the exo-1000 until I tried it at the motorcycle expo. It was a tank. The main thing I'd get it for is if I were using it for street riding/daily riding. If you don't have room for luggage (ie extra visor), the internal setup is nice.

I've only got 1 trackday on the icon, but I gotta say, the fact that it weighs less than the exo-400 (which is lighter than the 1000) alone is worth it to me. Just some thoughts. Either way you'll end up happy......so long as whichever one fits properly. Hope that helps yah.

Apples to oranges, the scorpion has flip down sunglass's inside, the shields dont fog, and the cheekpads are like the old rebok pumps for a custom fit. I am buying a scorpion next time around.

everything I have bought from Icon I have hated, all about style, and not about function of comfort.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Awesome summary right there. I liked the looks of the Icons, but there are better helmets out there. All show and very little go IMHO.

Scorpion is on the top of my helMOT list fo sho.

i really like the looks of that scorpion one. i tried on the domain 2 and i didn't like it. it felt cheap. the icon helmets to me feel cheap, but then again they are cheap. the icon helmet did fit my head the best. i have a round head so the other helmets put uneven pressure on my head. i ended up buying the icon mainframe helmet and i really like it for the price i paid. picked it up for 130 bucks off ebay. sure it isn't an arai but i didn't have the money to shell out 400 dolllars for one.

you need to go and try both of them on and see which one feels better. that will be your deciding factor.

I've had an EXO700 since they came out and really like it. That said, the Arai is a much better helmet; but it's much more $$ too.
