Possible "Riding with the stars"

I am putting out a feeler for interest in the following:

We have a client considering sponsoring some AMA racers for the next 2-3 years. Our Marketing people are working out details so I don't have specifics yet. One of the ideas floating around, however, is a "ride with the stars" type event where we get to spend some time with the people we are sponsoring (currently looking at two women and three men).

This is what I have suggested, tell me what you think:

Event 1: Track Day with the Stars

We would set up 2-3 track days to spend with the 5 sponsored individuals where we would have clinics geared toward all levels of riders. We would set up rides, Q&A type sessions.

Event 2: Touring with the Stars

Some open road touring with all five sponsored individuals. 200-300 miles of hanging out and riding with the Pro riders while they test out and play with some cool bikes.

Event 3: Superstar Track Day

We would pick one of the big tracks in the U.S. and have an event not only with the 5 sponsored riders, but add 2-3 more specifically for this event.

Thoughts?

#1 Sounds cool to me.
#2 seems like a little bit of a waste if they would be willing to do #1 or #3.

Thoughts?

I could be wrong, but I think a lot of AMA riders have clauses in their contracts that they can't ride on the street.

I think it would be better if the corporate fat cats were to sponsor a motorcycle web forum with ridiculous amounts of exposure in the track and motorcycling community. .

I was thinking that, too, but someone mentioned people not able to get all geared up and what not. I like #1 and #3 as well. My hope is that, if this happens, we could get something in the Midwest for #1. #3 could happen at Indy, but not sure at this point.

I guess it depends on who the core audiance is. Obviously, it is the fans, but break it down one more to street riders or track riders. Doing a track day might be the best, but of course you would have to do a conflicts search when it comes to sponsors.

A tour would be cool, but what were be the most valuable to the fans? Again, it depends on your core audiance.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

I mentioned that, actually, and there was no interest in regional sponsorship. They are looking at global impact here.

Oh, and picking up a tranny in England doesn't make us global

So, I guess i would ask if these guys are instructors, or just fast guys?

You can go to virtually any NESBA track day and ride with AMA pros. There are tons of them that are CRs as well.

If they were superstars... I'd be interested. If they aren't top 5, I wouldn't see the point.
