Belgium bound for interview

I just received word that I have round two of interviews for either an operations or quality management position in Eastern Europe or Moscow. They want someone multi-lingual, highly mobile and who can work under austere and sometimes potentially dangerous situations.

Because I've had the fortune of working with some great BS artists in my time. I guess something rubbed off.

Besides, my wife is from Russia and is looking forward to the opportunity of living on the "other side of the pond" and seeing a different walk of life.

My Russian is very basic at this point, I have forgotten a lot. But I can still speak enough to get myself in trouble and read/write basics. They know this. I'm also fluent in Polish.

They are looking for someone who has worked in less than desireable areas and can fly in and out of them. My impression (confirmed) is that they are looking more for a "package" deal vs. someone who may just be a whizbang language or business type and that may fail when asked to work in such areas for extended periods, which to my understanding is quite a big problem for expat's and their families.

best of luck. i hope it really works out for you. to be able to live on the other side would be a great opp.

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

I'm praying. I seem to get tagged for positions that end up putting me in places like Taji, Balad, Kabul, sometimes Kuwait. All other positions just don't pay well enough for me to consider.
