Ok troublemakers, lets try to be a little more respectful

So we know sooner or later the mods are going to yell at us. And to clarify, I love to join in the fun, or even start it sometime, but we are pushing it too far. I'm sure most of it is because we have all been stuck indoors all winter long and are getting restless (which likely is going to end soon). But lets step back and remember this is a motorcycle board. Sure we have an off topic section for some fun, but lets try to keep that respectful. If you don't know if you might be offending someone, don't say anything. For example.....

I can say "mao, you are a midget ninja". because I know mao in real life not just on the board, we are friends, and he truly is a midget ninja.

I can't say "Stives, you're a douchebag". Because I don't know stives that well and he may actually be a good guy. (*Note: in actuality I know Stives and he is a douchebag, but this is just for reference. Plus he won't really get offended by it)

You guys know what i'm saying. When someone is posting a serious topic, don't hijack it, keep it on task. When someone posts a non serious topic, have fun, but lets keep it under control. This goes for me too, I know I'm at fault also. When in doubt or when you can't hold back, make fun of me or hijack my threads. I can take it

I second Stives being a douchebag...especially when he won the chili cook off...though we all know he cheated.

also keep in mind when someone is first seeing this board we dont want them to get the wrong idea about everyone here. and the handful of people that i have met in person here are all great people. even the ones that i have never met have been willing to give more then a helping hand. we dont want to scare people off from here.

I think most of the problem is that people don't know who you know. So calling Mao a midget ninja might egg someone else on to refer to him as a midget ninja. Said person will most likely end up with thier knees sliced by an unknown blade from a midget ninja, because they don't know Mao and his ninja skills.

Hey Steve, you've got some brown schnit on your nose.

I hear ya man but it's just so much damn fun. I guess I need to tighten my ass up a little more. I've always had a dirty mouth though and even in preschool I was getting my mouth washed out with soap.

Seriously though? I had a really tough time becoming a member on this board. You really have to have some thick skin. I didn't know anyone and didn't know Endless was Robby till I saw him at SoW. The only people who really intro'd themselves to me were Mort82 and Nessey. Nessey actually took me around at Strats and introd me to everyone else. If it weren't for her I probably would've left. CLSBers are "clicky" and it's hard to be cool with everyone when you're new. I'm still new and I still have trouble introducing myself to new people. I'm not good at just walkin up to random people and introducing myself and it actually makes me physically sick to my stomach when I do it. My personal opinion is that the "senior members" should approach more noobs during meets and rides if you want to keep the members that signed up and took a big chance to come out and meet a bunch of people they've never met. That is how people stay and learn to love this community. I've heard noobs say the banter is colorful on here but they still came out to meet us. Why? Because they figures that we were a bunch of fun lovin people just lookin to have a good time because of our banter. But I agree, we do tend to take it too far sometimes. It's just really hard to control.
