Robbed?!

Some douchebag(s) broke into my house today, stole a couple of computers, my Nintendo Wii, some cash and various other things. I'm pissed as hell, luckily I have homeowner's insurance that'll cover it but fucking A, I didn't need this today.

That sucks. Time for an alarm.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

Do you think is was someone from your party?

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

That's a good question, the first thing the cops asked too. Who knows... really has me worried though. I'm nervous that they'll come back tomorrow to clean out the rest of the stuff now that they know where everything is. I'm going to park my car a few blocks away, take the day off work and sit with some 00 buckshot ready at the top of my stairs... it's killing time bitches.

No I'm not serious about that, but yes, I am that upset by this.

Without knowing how they got in or if the house was ransacked or not, I would also be wondering if it was someone who was recently in your house. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you...I can only imagine the flurry of emotions I would be feeling (hurt, pissed, enraged, etc) if I were in your situation.

Make sure if you had any spare keys around that they are were they should be. Nothing like replacing all your shit and having the same thing happen again in short time. If there is even a doubt that a key may be gone, it's time to replace all the locks and get yourself a decent alarm system.

Sorry to hear In Naperville too? Do you have an alarm or anything on your home/apartment? Although I doubt ADT would help much for a grab and go like they did to you.

On a related note, has anyone ever bought an alarm for their motorcycle? Part of me says it may help, the other part says its not worth the expense. Someone can too easily still just pick it up and dump the bike in a van. No one pays attention to alarm sounds. Plus dealing with all the false alarms. Do insurance companies like State Farm give discounts for full integrated bike alarms? I believe they do in the UK, but not sure about here.

I bought one of those alarmed Xena disc locks a while ago, and it was/is a big piece of crap. It would go off at random times, sometimes it would do nothing if you bumped the tire. I had to run out of hotel rooms in the middle of the night several times on trips to silence the thing because a squirrel farted next to it or who knows what. I ended up pulling the batteries out and I have a very expensive "dumb" lock now
