Mother's Day Suggestions...need help!

To all the newer Dad's out there...what are you getting your significant other for Mother's day?

I have 2 boys: a 3 year old and 1 year old....

And when I'm with the kids alone...an hour feels like a day! I don't know how she does it sometimes!

So I'm in need of some good unique suggestions...so post up what your getting!

Thanks

Marlon

I was thinking that. Get her spa treatment and Mario Tricoci's. I got that for my Mom and Aunt a few years ago.

Thanks for the suggestion although I thought about a spa package but she does this on her own quite a bit. Facials...massages...etc.

I'm looking for something different..out of the norm.

Keep em coming.

here's some background information.....

She's a high school spanish teacher...and summer vacation is around the corner. Lately she's been complaining she has no time to herself..which I agree. 2 kids for us is nuts...how can I give her time to her self?

For us it's now man on man D with the kids...and we kinda have our schedule of when the kids go to sleep and all.

And she's always keeping herself busy with activities for the kids...gymboree classes...park district classes etc.

So what can I do for her...to give her time back and have her enjoy it away from the kids?

Thats kinda my delemma...or I could just buy her something nice and call it a day! HAHAHAHAHA

Call your mother, if she's still around, or your sister, or somebody to help you with the kids for an extended weekend. Let her choose what she does and help fund it. Dells, Florida, whatever, a mini vacation for her to get AWAY from you and the kids.

Both of you should try to do this once a year. Just a few days to relax and unwind completely.

Yea good call..I'm sure we could work something out like that. I don't know about you guys...but my wife's girlfriends are all kinda flaky. One minute they call each other for days...meet up go shopping...the next you don't hear from them for a while. They are all in different phases of life...some with kids..some still out trying to meet that someong...I just don't know who she'd go on a trip with....and where she would like to go.

Chances are even though she's complaining that she never has time to herself I doubt she would want to get a gift for mothers day that would not involve her kids somehow. She's either just saying that because she's stressed or because she wants you to help out more. lol. If you are going to do something for her to give her time away from the kids, do it just because and don't do it as a gift for any certain holiday. I would suggest planning a weekend getaway with all four of you to the Dells or some other family destination but you be in charge of the diaper changes and feeding the kids and anything else your kids need. Let her have fun with the kids without having to stress.

Otherwise, you can always buy her jewelry. You can be creative and incorporate the kids birthstones into the jewelry or have it engraved with your childrens names or initials. Just make sure it's jewelry in her style or else she won't wear it and that can cause a fight. lol.

Also, no matter what you get her, make sure each of your kids has a gift for her that they made somehow. Whether its a picture they made (or tried to make) or you dip their hands and feet into paint and stamp them on paper and frame them.

Sometimes your knight in shining armor is just a retard wrapped in tin foil.

Your right...she'll go nuts without the kids. I'll have to plan some kind of weekend away...and have the kids make a card.
