Vegas Hotels??

I'm looking for a nice place to stay in Vegas. Any suggestions?

Anyone ever stay at Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino? Looks like they have pretty good room rates.

Check the Flamingo. They always had cheap rates when I went and it's right on the strip.

When I was there in March, I stayed at the Flammingo and it was a nice hotel for pretty cheap.

Last May I stayed at the HardRock...really nice but i'm sure its expensive and its off the strip...also stayed at the Luxor...prob expensive but awesome pool!

I need to find a hotel for cheap in August out there...goin back for my girl's wedding.

Recommending a hotel in Vegas is difficult unless we know the intended purpose of the stay. Family fun, drunken debauchery, hookers, gambling, clubbing, gettin' some sun, etc.

Golden Nugget is off strip. Its nice though. What are you looking for, something cheap, something nice, somewhere to gamble, somewhere to party?

If I was going for somewhere nice:Wynn, Bellagio, Venitian, Golden Nugget
Somewhere to party: Palms, Hard Rock
Cheap: mandalay Bay, Circus Circus, Flamingo, Stardust.

I go to the Wynn once a year and it's nice, but about $300 a night. I want to go to the palms next.

I've stayed at Ballys which is right in the middle of the strip, it was great. The rooms were a good price, at that time anyways. Also stayed at the MGM but that may be a lil out of your price range, but it's a AWESOME hotel. You'll have to go into all the hotels, they are alllll different in so many ways.
You're going to want to stay somewhere on the strip, other wise you have have take a cab everywhere if you stay like at the Stratosphere.

Thanks so far....

What I am looking for is a good hotel for my wife and I. Not really looking for a party hotel or even spending much time in the room. I just want something nice that has good service when we are there. Tropicana has come up with a few people and I am looking into the Flamingo.

I'm heading there for a work conference for three days(mon, tues, wed) and plan on being there for a week Sat to Sat to spend doing other stuff. If I was doing a normal 3 night vegas trip I would get a highend room but since the stay is longer than normal I want something reasonable.

Thanks again.

I stayed at the Monte Carlo last time I was there and they upgraded me to the Club level when we arrived. It was nice because there was a lounge that had free food and booze and also the floor was private (need to use the card in the elevator). Might be worth looking into, but they might charge a lot if you just request it. Friday and Saturday night are going to be expensive, but during the week, it was cheap.

I just got back from staying a few days at the Luxor for the first time. $158 a night for a nice tower room. Nice reasonably new hotel, good pool, food and easy walk to multiple other new hotels. It is a little off the strip. The room was good, but not great. Fine to crash in for the $. I'd go back.

Bellagio or Venetian... hands down. You and your wife will thoroughly enjoy either of those hotels. They are top 5 in Vegas for couples.

I'm partial to the Bellagio though, as it is closer to the side of the strip that I enjoy more and that we get comps there.

Monte Carlo was really nice for the rate. Mirage is about the same.
Stayed 2 mights at Bellagio right after it opened and it was lovely.

That said, I f*ing hate Vegas and I'd never go back, so have fun!! Don't forget to bag it.
