Lojack is it worth it?

I am thinking bout having Lojack installed on my bike, is it worth the money? How much does it typically run?

Not worth it. Let them have it and get another bike with the insurance check .

Didn't someone on the board get bikejacked last year. He had lojack on it and they found the bike. Made the news and everything

Do you really want the bike back when they find it? Who knows what condition it is in? I guess if your bike has sentimental value or mods that your insurance will not replace.

Lojack is pricey but might be worth it if you have a bike that has sentimental value. Otherwise full coverage with a low deductable. My buddy that just had his bike stolen had only a $100 deductable so he will get a good amount for his bike. But I think he'd rather have the bike back, but then you have the damage done to the bike. Typically the bike just gets dumped and has some skid damage, but maybe they total it like another guy on this site had done. He went to the police station and the bike was in a wad. Totalled out anyways and the lojack was basically a wasted expense then.

If you are getting an alarm the only way to go is Lojack. They have some insurance that pays you if it is not recovered. Everything else is a waste of money.
My guy has the scorpian. It went off and he ran out just as the truck was pulling away w/ his bike.

I got back a stolen bike that had sentimental value -

Imagine if your favorite toy, stuffed animal, doll or whatever from childhood got stolen and when you get it back it's missing pieces, painted a different color, doesn't work exactly like it used to, and has wear & tear you didn't put on it.

You don't want it back. Keep the insurance for a new one!

Lowjack would be cool if you had the tracking device. then you could locate your bike, beat the shit out of the guy, hang him in a nearby forest, and still get your bike back.

Personally, I would not want the bike back though, time for a new one.
