Got me a new truck and bike!

My 12 year old Ram was getting up there in miles (196K) and I needed a new truck, so last night I came home with a 2008 Silverado. I sold my Escalade a few weeks ago since I never drive it and I wanted to go down to just one truck. This Silverado is awesome. It's got just about every option including 4x4, Z71, 18" wheels, power everything, 6disc in dash cd player w/XM, OnStar, 5.3L flex fuel v8 with cylinder cutout (gets over 20mpg) and 4 huge storage compartments. This is my first new car out of the 30 i've already owned and i'm hoping to keep it for a LONG LONG time.
Then there's my new bike. I had a Yz426f a few years ago that I loved, so I bought this 2001 426 for a great deal and it's what i'm going to ride dirt with since my motard is too nice to beat up on the trails and mx tracks.

noice, I drive one of those for my part time job and they are nice. Do you notice that it is a little hesitant when you first get on the gas? Nice bike too.

It was pretty hard walking away from her for the last time. I hauled many many bikes in the back of that truck and never had any problems with it.

It don't really notice, but then I just came from a 196K 12 year old worn out truck, so to me, this truck is like a sports car!

Good luck with your est fuel mileage. My pops has that truck and still only gets around 16-17 mpg. The same as my '07 F-150 without the cylinder cutout.

No way, diesel is $.50-.80 cents a gallon more, uses 16 quarts of oil on every oil change, costs $6K for the option, and even if my truck only gets 17mpg, diesels don't get much if any better. My truck is rated to tow up to 8,800lbs., that of which i'll never come close to towing. Plus diesel stinks, and you have to wear gloves to fill it and then your shoes smell like diesel from standing in the spilled fuel by the pump. Gas FTW!

Nice truck, it should serve you well.
I do find it funny how a regular cab looks a bit out of place these days. Seems like they stopped making them with everyone buying extended and crew cabs.

Yeah, Chevy only had a regular cab pickup from the 40's til 1987 (with the exception of the 3+3 1 ton which was very rare) . Now a days, soccer moms need 4 door trucks with a tiny bed, so us truck guys are SOL. I bought what I needed and I really think it will do just fine. Too bad they don't make a 1500 extended cab long bed cause that's what I had and wouldn't mind another.

I thought your grip pads had a different design than those? What type would you say you have cause they are awesome and that's what I want

Not yet. Soon enough. I'll likely be at Norway Sunday though.

Is Beaz getting out of riding entirely? He's gotten rid of all his bikes!
