You arrive at work. You press the "up" button next to the elevator. It lights up.
Someone arrives behind you, sees the lit button, and presses it again. And again, and again.

Is this going to help you get to work any faster?

This typically means the person is about to shit their pants and need to get to "their" stall asap. Recommendation: let them ride solo just in case.

No, I work on elevators. Elevators are setup with AI now where if you press it more than once the actual speed picks up. It senses and does a series of calculations determining how quick you need to get to your floor and how late you will be. True story.

Yes, the elevators sense urgency.

Triangles together also is connected to the doors.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

It all depends on how the control logic is set up

Set up a counter for the call buttons. When it reaches a value of say 20, then cancel all floor requests, and immediately return to the higher calling floor. Screw the people that thought they were actually going to the floor they requested. The guy that NEEDS his stall is going to be pissed.

Yes...it could be done

Jeez. There are 8 elevators in the bank, and this is freaking San Antonio-- not crowded, people.

My fat ass needs to take the stairs. I pounded that beef and fries down at portillos yesterday. I almost choked when that tioght little blonde walked in though. Who the F was that ? She was probably 3 feet tall.

back on topic:
Yeah pushing the elevator buttons does not make the elevator come any faster.
