How long does oil stay fresh for????

I had a couple of half used gallon jugs of oil (golden spectro semi syntetic) laying around out of sunlight for a good 4 years. I combined them all into 1 gallon container. Is this oil still good or should I toss it and stop being cheap and by new stuff or can I use this stuff?

i knew this guy once who threw out oil cause it had an expiration date on it. needless to say i picked it all up, ran it in all my cars, and everything was fine and dandy. i mean, oil is only a few millions years old whats another 4? LOL

seriously though, i'm sure there are some of the additives that break down over time, but why throw it out? you could cut it with some fresh stuff to keep your mind at ease, or just run it in your car, lawn mower, or whatever else, dont just toss it.
