way to start off my weekend...

..I get home from work after grabbin' some oil for the cage. I get home around 5:45pm, run in, close the house windows, then go to the kitchen for some grub. Afterwards, i run upstairs to change so that i could clean the car, when i get a call from my moms.. and this is what i come outside to..

the car that was seen was an old Honda, rattle can/flat black paint, tinted on all windows, and slammed to hell (neighbors claim the rear was really low). After i cleaned up the mess and taped up the window w/ a garbage bag, my brother and i dropped the car off in a garage. I give him the details on what the car looked like, and i find out that there's a similar (fucking identical) car that fits the description, who lives about 6 blocks from my house (literally in between my house and my brothers, which is between Dempster and Oakton), and i go down that same street this fuckhole lives on. Hmmm..

Anywho, i've called the officer who filed the report, he said he'd go check it out. It's been almost an hour and no sign of him being at dudes house (i can walk down the block and see the possible thieves car), and no cop car on sight.

What really pisses me off is that radars aren't covered under insurance (state farm). FUCK!

Why not have you neighbor look at the car and identify it then post the exact location of it and maybe something might say ummmm take place like neighbor hood justice

i've said it numerous times before and i have to say it again. that car has been nothing but bad luck man. it's time to let it go. get something similar if you want but that car is cursed for sure. i've never seen anyone go through so much grief because of their ride.

Hopefully they didn't f* up anything other than the window, minus the theft.

I've seen too much damage from jackasses who knock everything aside and cause big $ damage for something seemingly trivial.

Good luck with it.

Sorry to hear that this happened to you.

Everyone should take their radar detectors and GPS systems out of their vehicles whenever they are parked anywhere (especially parking garages and train lots). In those places it is far easier to hit multiple cars in a short amount of time.

It's getting very very common for people to bust out windows to grab the radar or GPS.

Also, when you do take it out, try and wipe the glass so the suction cup marks are gone. Many times people remove it from the window and just throw it in their glove box, center console, or under the seat and the offenders will break it the car anyway just by seeing the suction cup marks and hoping the owner put the item somewhere else in the car.

Good tips there. I had this happen twice to me a couple of years ago. Two different cars, too, and they got NOTHING. I got a 200$ bill for replacing the windows, however...

With all these thefts going on, there should be a good solution. Just set up a bike or a car that you know somebody is going to try to steal and just pick them assholes off with rubber bullets.

I had my windowns busted out 2 times one month apart a few years back. There is a place on armitage in the city called armando's that fixes windows and is cheap. They did my truck's rear window for like $100.

Sorry for your misfortune.
