Stolen Aprilia RSV 1000

So last night I go to call a friend of mine to see if he wants to go out riding and find out that his Aprilia RSV1000 was stolen from his garage in Somonauk (Southwest of Chicago). I don't remember the location of the exact stickers and whatnot but I do remember that it looks exactly like the bike from the movie Torque (combination of Black/Red/White). Also, it is not brand new. My guess would be early '00s. I will definitely ask him for more details, mileage, pictures, etc and try to update this later tonight. I just wanted to try and see if CLSB might be able to help him get his bike back (of course he didn't have theft insurance on the bike so cannot get a new one ). If you should happen to see anyone in the chicagoland area parting one out or selling w/out title please reply or PM me.

Thanks for the suggestion for AF1. I'll pass that on to him as well.

After Bike night, I found ALL the parts I need, just sitting in a garage. The RSV may live again! How do I change frame numbers?

Bad joke, not trying to speak bad of your friends loss. I am not the Thief.
At least it should be pretty easy to ID concidering the rareity of Aprilias.

Are you referring to the bike night in Elmhurst? I was out that way last night.

And yes I agree that it should be easy to ID. His Aprilia was the first I've seen in the chicagoland area (not saying they don't exist, but yeah...). I'm also going to ask him what the VIN number was and whatnot to just sort of keep an eye out if I happen to go on larger rides. Last year I went on the "Sherman Rocket Ride" with Q101 and there was a guy that got arrested because he rode a bike that he stole a week before.

Ask your friend if his homeowners insurance covers theft. Someone broke into my garage and stole my car, i didn't have full coverage so i claimed it under my homeowners insurance and i got the money for a new car!
