New lead singer for Journey... Filipino?!

Arnel Pineda, Journey coverband singer in the Philippines gets discovered on youtube and is now the replacement for Steve Perry. Crazy but awesome. Now all the peeps at family parties will be trying to belt out Journey on karaoke.

I heard they made his ass sing at the US embassy when he said his reason for coming here is to audition for Journey. Truly a rags to riches story. Glad he made it.

The sad part he didn't replace Perry, this is about the 3rd singer they had since Perry

Steve Perry - lead vocals (1977-1998)
Steve Augeri - lead vocals, occasional rhythm guitar on tour (1998-2006)
Jeff Scott Soto - lead vocals (2006-2007)
Arnel Pineda - lead vocals (2007-present)

They are worse than Van Halen with singers

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy"- Benjamin Franklin

I guess Journey dumped the poodle-headed 1st replacement for Steve Perry, eh?

Same thing happened for Boston. They found their new lead singer working at a Home Depot somewhere.

Dante: [to Randal] You never go ass-to-mouth!
Randal: [to Dante] Would you grow up!
Becky: [to Dante] OK, I'm only telling you this because we're friends, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ass-to-mouth.
Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.

OMG, you should've been there when Arnel Pineda just got into Journey about 1-2 months ago. I work at a Filipino/Japanese karaoke restaurant/byob bar and so many people sang "Open Arms" by Journey. Almost nobody sang that song before Arnel got into Journey.

I went out this morning and picked up a copy of their CD. Seriously listening to the songs, I couldn't really tell the difference from steve perry and arnel.

Find their tour in Vegas last March on YouTube it's crazy!. Guess what majority of people showed up. Perry is still the original voice but one thing I like about Pineda is that he's got a little bit of soul in his singing. I sang Faithfully a while back when we were doing covers and we got a call from BMI to stop doing it or pay the fine.
