Good seafood places??

Looking for a good place to take pops for Fathers Day. I'm up in the north burbs, but if it's good enough, willing to go downtown area too. Looking for nicer/better than Red Lobster, have reservations at Bob Chins right now, but have never been there before. Parents probably don't want to go to a REAL loud restaurant because there may be a few people going and want to be able to have conversation with them. Cy's Crabhouse has been suggested, but then again, haven't been there either.....suggestions?

It is, unfortunately, loud. However, you can try requesting a semi-secluded area - if you have a party of 10, you can get one.

Catch 35

In my opinion Catch 35 is one of the best around for fish steaks. You can pick your steak from the glass cooler. A little more pricey than many but very good quality.

Keywester is also very good, with a bit of a more Key West flair.

Bob Chinns is the only one that I have been to that isn't a Red Lobster or Joe's Crab Shack. They are consistently good and have good service. I might talk the wife into taking me there for Dinner tonight, it has been a few months since we have been there.

It's a helluva a long drive from the southwest burbs but if you're somewhat in the area it is worth your time and money. Their menu changes daily depending on what kind of seafood is flown in to them. You must try it sometime.

For the record Todai is a pretty high quality buffet.

service and atmosphere are too cafeteria style though.

RA Sushi (The Glen) or Kona (Libertyville)

Kona has been my favorite lately and then RA Sushi. Or just go to the korea market and order "hae" for $30-$40, it's on a round plate with a variety and take it open crack open soju and you are good to go. It's sushi without the rice. It's good.
