Potatoes in the Lights!

So I'm changing the fluorescent lights in my kitchen on Sunday and in removing the cover one end suddenly drops as a number of heavy objects roll from one end to the other...when I get the thing off and take a look I find three potatoes in the damn light cover!!

Upon further investigation, it seems that potatoes have the ability to absorb mercury vapors so the previous home owner must have thought it wise to protect the environmental integrity of the home by stuffing three Idaho spuds in the fixture..........my question to you, does anyone else follow suit!?

That's crazy. I would think that the potatoes would rot and be stinky, etc.

Were they sprouting anything after all this time?
Or too dessicated, & if so, how are they retaining their vapor-absorbing powers?

On a slightly related note, would you like to hear the story about an ER patient with a potato in her vagina? (true story)

do you guys snicker or plain flat out bust a gut when you see stuff like this? I don't think I'd be able to help myself!

Cerk: yah, that's just plain weird and I've never heard of that. Did you check the other lights as well?

In a book titled Emergency there was a woman mentioned in it that was well over 400 lbs. She had a dime under one breast that was found via x-ray, and the TV remote in another fold of skin. It was stated that the family was happy to have the remote for the tv back.

on that note, am I the only guy who has light switches in his house that he has NO IDEA what they do? i have a bank of 3 light switches, and one of them is the switch power for a TV in a spare bedroom, the other two, I simply have NO idea. They have wire hooked up to them, and I dont want to switch them for fear that my toilet might flush.

Aaaa Dani, have I ever told you I love you? lol Who wouldn't want to hear a story about a patient with a potato in her vagina. I mean I've heard of bananas in the tailpipe, but not potatos in the vagina.

But make a new thread if you are going to tell the story Or you could PM me the story complete with pics.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

AHHH that reminds me of that commercial where the guy was flipping the switch and the garage door down the street was beating the shit out the the old ladies car.

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

That is really weird. Did you check your other lights?

And, did you replace the old ones with fresh potatoes?

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I figured this out when I flipped the unknown switch and my laptop would go *be-dink*, *be-dunk* telling me it had power...it lost power.

I have a friend that's a bit paranoid, and she got upset to hear that I was putting compact fluorescents all through my house...she's all like "what about the mercury vapors!"
