Advice Needed...

Need to say hi, new here. Been lurking for a while.

Back on topic.
Had a great fathers day. Went for a ride and was hit by someone. They never got out of the cage, ended up driving off. Good note cops got here less then 5 min. Now the insurance she gave them is invalid. Damage is believe to be below deduct. Dont want to bring my insurance in unless I have to. Can't get bike fixed till insurance looks at it or pay out of pocket. I have yet to speak to the driver for fear of going to jail myself. Anybody think just fixit and file a suit against her, or should I just have the mark on my insurance and let them handle it. Accident was not my fault and do have witness. She was issued two tickets currently and as soon as I have the insurance letter of cancelation will be going to PD to have more issued.

Any advise how I should handle this, as my judgement is impaired by the situation. Need outside views.

Thanks

Gent your ins co. involved, you pay them for their representation, and with you not being at fault they will go to court for you

Kirby- BY ALL MEANS GET YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY INVOLVED!!!

You were not at fault and this will NOT go against you or your premiums.

Were you injured at all? Hopefully not......

Yeah, that's what I thought. But my accident this January proved to me that they are simply their to fix the vehicle and move on. They didn't fight for me worth a damn, and I promptly switched companies. I'm very unhappy with Farmers Insurance as I'm out nearly $2000 after that accident, and I wasn't even at fault!

it's a claim, so your insurance might go up, but it's a claim against your uninsured / underinsured portion, not your collision, so if it goes up, it shouldn't be much, and you shouldn't have to worry about being dropped, or anything like that.

Yes I am OK, was able to ride away. Standard stiffness

I know the accident is no fault my part, But it is activity on my insurance, should not be a big problem, as long as nothing else happens in the near future.

The cost looks to be under 200, want to get it fixed now to enjoy the season.

I am waiting for a call back from my agent as well for there advice, but cycle claims seem to be new to them.

My ins state farm, Hers was supposed affirmative

$200? chalk it up to the cost of life and move on. Your deduct is going to be more anyway. what exactly was damaged? Remember when you get the insurance involved, everypart that was nik'd, scratched, damaged, etc, they are going to fix. THey want you to have the vehicle EXACTLY like it was before.

what was broken, if it's $200 at a shop, maybe somebody here on the board can help you swap the part and save you some cash. I would be happy to depending on what it is.

Affirmative is a substandard company so even if she had insurance good luck with that. If its only 200 I would not go through your insurance. Any time you make a claim it goes against you. Your premium may not go up but it stays on your record and can hurt you for renewal or if you shop for another insurance. What do you have to fix on it?

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

Talking with my rep. Wtih this little damage they may not even get involved. Was thinking when I get the paper work for the insurrance, calling here and saying this is the costfor repairs, Cash and I won't have the 500 dollar ticket issued by the pd for insurance. At least get what is right fully my money for her [email protected]#! up. The shop is doing the 600 service now and will check for other damage and call me later.

If it was up to me I would just order the tail kit and lights and have it checked out. Better half wants it back to new. Yes I choose my battles wisely (not happy about the bike at all, been off them since the I do's)
