Cubs fans = Bandwagon!

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...e=gallo/080620

For all you Cubs fans who deny that the Cubs is a bandwagon team, read this article...It's on ESPN.com and actually TEACHES you how to jump on the Cubs bandwagon!!! Some of you Cubs "fans" who have jumped on this bandwagon already should still read this article, to help you out

Edit: Ok, it does mention Red Sox fans as well, but you know who this article is geared towards by the picture of the Cubs Superfan!

Funny...those of us who have been long time Cubs fans (and season ticket holders) through the bad times and still supported our team through some tough years (Ball park was still full even in the bad years) laugh at these articles.

I don't see hardly any of the bandwagon jumpers I saw when the White Sox were on the road to the World Series. Your stadium was PACKED, the following season I picked up tickets at a discount. hmmm.

Haha, you're a long time Cubs fan and you don't hardly see bandwagon jumpers?!? Come on man, I'm a Sox fan and will admit that the Sox had bandwagon jumpers, but don't try to pull S#$% over on me! If you dont' see them it's because you're blind, but that's okay too...And picking up tickets the following season for a discount? They had more sold out games than ever, but YOU got a discount and that proves something?!? Ok, then in that case I've been to 6 Cubs games this year and haven't paid for one of them, what does that mean

J/K man, I thought it was funny so I posted it...At least nobody's as bad as Yankee fans and Marlins fans!

+1.

OP is trying to make it seem like all Cub fans are bandwagon jumpers.
Just because the bandwagon is a little empty on the southside doesn't mean that they all went north. Southside fans just went back to robbing, car jacking and general mayhem causing.

BTW, I'm a southsider.

I'm a southsider as well and totally agree with you, if there was a bandwagon for the Cubs maybe atleast one of the games before they had such a wonderful record wouldn't have been COMPLETELY full!! No matter what they do this year the stadium will still be full next year.

Bandwagon, I think not.

u may be a bandwagon jumper

if all your sox gear says 2005 world series champs.

i never knew there were so many sox fans until 2006. that article sucks and they only reason they are talking about the cubs is cuz they have the best record in the NL. which in my opinion is a good thing.

There is always bandwagon jumpers, the Cubs having more national fans than most teams & get more just by shear numbers.

The Cubs probably also have more that considering themselves Cubs fans but know little about baseball or the team.

Unfortunately I'm not a "bandwagon jumper", been to way too many games in the past that they have lost, even before I was old enough to drink beer. Yes I actually go to Cubs games to watch (the game). It must be nice though to only follow winning teams, you would think it gets expensive though

I wish there was an easy way to poll people as they walked into the Cubs stadium and see how many are there because they truly love the game or are just there to drink.

Why is that unfortunate that you're not a bandwagon jumper? I far more respect REAL fans than I do bandwagon jumpers. Who only follows winning teams? (aka Yankees/Marlins fans)

Oh, and by the way, all these "Sox bandwagon jumper" fans that you keep talking about...where do you think they came from?!? THEY WERE ALL CUBS FANS!!! I used to go to a bar in Lincoln Park because we knew the bartender, and the whole year him and all the other workers gave me shit for wearing a Sox hat. Until they made the playoffs and watched a game there (Kelseys) and all of a sudden they're giving me high fives and telling me that they're "Chicago" fans I have no problems with Cubs fans...I have no problems with Sox fans...I have no problems with Chicago fans...but I DO have a problem with fans who gave me shit for years about the Sox, and then all of a sudden they're "Chicago" fans.

whoa....i take pride in owning my size kids medium1993 AL west champions t-shirt, and my 05 WS gear. but i've also owned all my other gear. btw, i'll be all decked out when i go to the bar later.

but i've been a whitesox fan and oakland/los angeles raiders fan my whole damn life and i just felt the need to proclaim it here.

as long as you own the other stuff you're prob a real fan. i don't have anything against WS fans i just am not one of them, nor am i a chicago fan. the sox are fine whatever and if they are playing anyone other than the cubs i don't want for them to lose (just seems like they do a lot lol) but i'm not gonna sit there and cheer and high five people. eff that, i wear cubs gear when i go to sox games.

so do they really play while we're at wrigley, i thought it was just a place to go and party and pick up chicks? i mean really there is BASEBALL going on at the baseball stadium, who'd a thunk it?

My wife is a big sox fan and has been since she was a kid, but doesn't follow the count or know what a suicide squeeze is. Does that mean she's not a fan?

I don't think knowledge of the game necessarily equates level of support for a team. The teams are both in first place so you can't say that one team has more bandwagon fans because they are winning.

Accordingly, the Cubs have a better record, do you think fans without knowledge of sports will say, "the cubs have a .616 winning percentage and the sox have a .569, I will now become a cubs fan."

There are just more Cub fans that flash the gear when they are winning.

Refresh my memory, but how the F#$% is that not bandwagon?!? Wearing your team's gear shows support and shows that you're a fan of that team...So more Cubs fans show support when they're winning, means that they're not when they're losing...Dude you just threw yourself under the bus...er...wagon
