Quick getaway with the wife

So we have come to the realization that we need to escape for a few days. We can leave on a Saturday afternoon and have to be back by Wednesday evening. I was thinking about driving somewhere and taking the bike in the bed of my truck. I figure I can do one day of riding and give her a spa day. Then have a couple of days to do stuff together. So where do we go?

I thought the spa day was a fair trade. Old guys do the same trade for golf all the time.

We thought about Door County are there nice roads up that way? Maggie Valley is also tempting I'm just worried about finding a good spa day for her. And the drive may be a bit more than I want to do.

Has anyone been to Kohler Wi? I hear the Kohler spa is incredible

I have been to Door County, I didnt ride back then so I didnt pay attention to the roads. Area is a little on the pricey side, but not horrible. What do you and your wife like to do? That would help in places for you two to get away.

In all seriousness, I've heard this place is nice: osthoff.com
It's in Elkhart Lake.

I'm actually going there in early July for a wedding; if it interests you send me PM and I will let you know how it was after I get back. My friend who is getting married there says it's awesome, and she has amazing taste (yes, even though she is friends with me)

Door county would be perfect for you, Check out door county winery, they have some awesome wines and tons to taste.

get a room at the birchwood lodge, they have a shower to die for ( you could literally fit 8 people in there)and there is a jacuzi tub in your bedroom, oh and it has a full kitchen as well. not that you'll need it, as there is all kinds of good food up there. Al jolsons is down the street from the lodge is one of my favorite places for breakfast.

Peninsula rock state park is the perfect place for the hike you mentioned and some awesome picture oportunities.

oh and good roads? the road to gills rock at the north end of the peninsula feels like a small trackday

+1. My wife and I went up there last month and really enjoyed it. The resort we stayed at was excellent. It was called Shorewood, I believe.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

In Lake Geneva....it's not porno sybaris like. It's B&B with whirlpool. Just got back from there today. Only thing that would made it nicer was if it wasnt raining when we left yesterday and we coulda rode up there instead of driving.

This is being considered for next week. A nice way to tell her I love her, coincidentally booked the same days that Nesba is at Road America!

It all goes back together the way it came apart...unless it came apart at redline!

We're going July 12-16, I would love to combine it with a track day but that would be pushing things, she caught me checking the Road America schedule last night.
